5. Free Speech. I'm not tortured and later shot in the back of the head for saying "Bush is a terrorist" (but he is)
4. Education. I'm pround of our fine Universities - the kids that go there need much STRICTER parents to enstill ethics into thier children, but the schools are great.
3. Free Enterprise. Ok, some of get fuked & some are lucky, but it's nice to know we're not born into some crappy caste .. we can always work our way up the ladder (or at least try too)
2. Democracy. As much as I absolutely hate the Bush Admin - at least they only get 4 more years tops.
1. It's near Canada.

The USA does have some of the best universities in the world no question. But both Canada and the UK have schools which, in respective fields, are at least equal. The US advantage is in having so many more.

Lander,

You're welcome here anytime, but please leave the "God save the Queen stuff". Nothing personal against the old lady but she just doesn't have a place here anymore. Nothing worse than a Canuck who is an Anglo-sycophant.

The American parent of today is a real disgrace. They are raising their sons to be lazy and have no morals and raising there daughters to be whores. They think that is cool. What a disgrace. I am glad i have no children in today's world.

Ever since the idea became widespread that being an intellectual was iqual with being a "nerd" (and thus, weak) we have been in trouble.

You cracked me up with that one. Gamblingwise ya gotta love it. Curious though, is this your opinion based on posters here at the Rx. or do you know other sharp Canadien gamblers? Also do you think Lander will pick more winners when he moves north to Canada, I think the change will do wonders for his BR.

Interesting. A daily 'why I hate America' topic now being floated, probably daily, in the sportsbook section instead of one of the forums already set up for it.

So informative, too! You don't like it, that's fine. I like it.

What else is there to say?

Forget Canadien gamblers does anybody remember Blazing Saddles and The Gov. William J. LePetomaine Hospital and Casino for the Insane Gambler? Great idea. It got me thinking about Blazing Saddles and my favorite line from that very funny flick:

Hedley Lamarr: I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists!

We've got em all here at the Rx.

The US DOES have the best universities, full of foreign students. This is the enrollment list from the Bioinformatics Masters program at Boston University. Youshould see MIT's PHD list. Looks like a town hall list of Hindus and Asians.

I meant regarding pop culture's view of the "intellectual".
