Too many playoff teams,its time to cut back!

It will never happen but it would be the best thing from a purests point of view, as usual its always about more money...More Playoff Teams = More Money!

It has taken much of the interest out of the regular season, no wonder the ratings are so low, who watches anymore unless you have money on these regular season games...The NBA and NHL are the worst, I still love NBA playoff basketball...Hockey well, I think they need a bigger puck lol, but thats another story....

Would there be more interest in these sports if the playoff teams were cut in half? 16 teams making the NBA playoffs is ridiculous, look at the East... half the Conference is under .500

In baseball with the Wild Card I think it is a good thing, especially with the ridiculously lopsided spending by big market teams, so it does work in baseball...The NFL is getting real close to having too many playoff teams as well...

Think back in baseball when 4 teams made it, or even two teams! Remember when th e division series was just a best of five? You win 100 ballgames and drop the first two playoff games and you were done basically ...too many mediocre playoff teams!

I agree 100%. By the time post season starts you already know which 4 teams are going to the finals. Very few upsets, it is a waste of time imo.

Subzearo - not so in the NHL. Seedings are not at all indictive of what team will get to the finals. Last year the low seeded Anaheim Mighty Ducks lost the Cup in 7 games to the New Jersey Devils, and the previous year the Carolina Huuricanes surprised everyone getting to the finals befor losing to the Detroit Red Wings in 5 games.

Your right sub about the NBA and the teams in the playoffs & finals being predictable.....BUT......not near as bad as it was years ago.....Celtics, Lakers, 76ers.........
