It use to be where the day after Thanksgiving you would have these HUGE Sales ... The Lines, all the people ... getting that $500 TV for $100
Stores opening up Early the next day, and some that Night.

But Now there are Pre- Black Friday Sales ... which some were started Last Week ... or even earlier ..

Stupid !

Have you ever gone out on that Friday morning and participate in that mayhem? I did it once about 10 years ago when I wanted to buy 10-15 for my bar and I couldn't believe how fucking nuts it was. I swore that there would never be a time in my life that I would do something as retarded as that!

Took the FUN out of it??? They made it better IMO

I hate going out in that shit...last year I saved about $700 off a 65' Smart LG 4k TV a couple days before thanksgiving on best buy online and I did it at work on my computer and they shipped it for free. My best "black friday" experience ever.

I vow to never go out on black friday again....not worth it unless you are buying big appliances saving hundreds but to run all around to save 50% off of something that is 25 bucks ehhh not for me.......Black Friday, not fun for me, more like a nightmare ;+)-

I agree with BAS about them taking the fun, and tradition out of it.

Whether you went out in it or not, Black Friday was something that let you know Christmas time is here & you can feel it even in the air.

Same problem with stores competing with each other by putting Christmas stuff out earlier & earlier ever year.

And even though they do that, they would at least wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start playing Christmas music. This year ive been in stores who started playing it 2 weeks ago. We're talking the beginning of November!

I avoided Black Friday for 25 years, used to be a great quite day for me. Huskygal heads out at 4 AM and comes back at 6 PM

Then a few years ago I got suckered into going to buy a TV at BestBuy at their midnight sale. Waited in line for hours, learned I could buy it on line for the same if not less

I doubt I'll be doing another Black Friday for the rest of my life, unless maybe the grandchildren sucker me into it a few years down the road

PS: looking for a new TV again this year, thinking about going with 70", maybe more but the price seems to escalate from there. Presently have 55", was so big at the time and now it's undersized.

I did it with my at the time 10 year old daughter because she wanted to get some things at Walmart and thought I would pick up some video games for my boys. I won't do it again, lot of desperate and really rude/pushy people at Walmart (what did I expect). But I also realized a lot of families needed to be there or they couldn't afford it, I was there just because my daughter wanted to go.

I picked up a few things for a decent price but not worth the time or hassle. I still look online over the weekend but never going back to stores

I never took part of Black Friday but I know what BAS is saying. It felt like an event and now with Black Friday starting days in advance it doesn't feel special anymore. Anyone remember back in 2008 where they had two black Fridays? The second one was on December 26, 2008 and the traffic was crazy. I don't think they've done that again.

In canada the equivalent of black friday is boxing day and it is the day after christmas on the 26th every year. Its a brilliant idea. The biggest sale of the year on the day after christmas. Most do holiday shopping before christmasto get presents and etc and won't be doing much shopping after that....but you insert the biggest sale of the year the day after christmas and the whole nation goes shopping

Lots of manufacturers make sub-par products just for Black Friday, so in the end, it's the consumer who is losing. I can find better deals throughout the year on TV's and electronics that beat BF, you just have to look out for them.
