Tony Dungy as a coach?

No doubt he is a great man. He has done many great things and is as solid a person as there is in sports.

But, how was he as a coach?

I would say very good. Not great, though. He did build the Bucs to respectability, but could not get them over the top. He has had some of the best talent in the league in Indy, but only one Super Bowl ring with all of the those playoff apperances. Seems they underachieved an awful lot.

Again, not attacking him. I think he has been very good, but one of the greatest...?

I believe including the Bucs and Colts it was 10 straight years of post season. Remarkable.

I think you raise some vaild points, but Don Shula could never win with the best Passer (imo) in NFL history. I think winning it all and getting to show is sometime easier said than done.

Sad to see him leave the Colts. I would have like to see him win one more with Indy before retiring.

He was a good coach........not the best.
