Tomlin is just awful, how he still has that job is unreal. But guess what, he will still be there next season and the season after that. If I screwed up as much as him I would be fired a long time ago.

Just bad decisions

1) calling a timeout after Ben ran for a first down. You need two scores and another possession, timeouts are more valuable than a lost down in that spot. Have Ben spike the ball and go to 2nd and 10

2) The onside kick put the nail in the coffin. Two timeouts plus the two minute warning, kick it deep. Chances are Jacksonville plays it conservative and you should get the ball back with around two minutes around your own 35 yard line and only down 7.

Not very good decisions

Agree, the kick was a bad move. I see too many NFL coaches doing this and many of them don’t last. See Norv Turner with the Chargers in the 2010 playoffs vs Jets. The odds of getting an onside kick in the NFL, with the other team being aware of it, are minuscule. 2 TOs and the 2 minute warning with just over 2 mins, you should kick off. Plus, most teams go conservative deep in their zone in a one score game vs. being on their opponents side of the field. More often than not NFL coaches will run 3 dives and punt. Do you think they would have let Bortles throw for a first down deep in his zone?

First off, Jags running it 3 straight times doesn't guarantee a 3 and out against that defense in that situation. Secondly, any reasonable onside kick is going to get you the ball back after a 3 and out.

Not necessarily. The Jags had it 4th and 1 and kicked a 45 yd FG. They could have also went for it on 4th and 1 to end the game. Let’s say the onside kick goes 10 yards, to the Pit 45, and the Jags still have it 4th and 1. They still could have kicked a 53 yard FG or went for the 1st down on the Pit 36 which would have also ended the game. I cannot see the Jags punting in that situation.

If Pitt kicks it out of the end zone and Jax has it 4th and 1 on the Jax 34 there is only one option, punt to Pit down by 7 with about 1:50 left on the clock. I cannot see Jax going for it on their own 34 up by 7.

The onside kick was the wrong play as it gave Jax too many options/freedom with the ball with little margin for error.

Roethlisberger has converted 18 of 19 fourth-and-1 attempts during his career and I’d bet any amount of money Tomlin doesn’t know that. The onside attempt was right from the Andy Reid school of game management and the funniest part is Tomlin was whispering to Ben as if they would get the ball back and he was all clever.

Otherwise, how many times did the Patriots talk about the Steelers this week, or any week other than the week they played? How many times did you hear Patriots players talking about contracts three days before a game? How many touchdown celebrations did the Patriots choreograph?

The Steelers did all that this week because Tomlin’s a complete clown. If he were white he’d be fired this week and that is what privilege looks like.

Agree to disagree on the onside kick.

The 4th and 1 playcalls were definitely atrocious.
