Sources close to the Texas situation have told ESPN this week that university president Gregory Fenves doesn't want to fire Strong, who is 16-20 in his third season. But influential boosters want to fire him and replace him with Herman. But if Herman is off the market, and the Longhorns defeat TCU on Friday to become bowl eligible, the chances of Strong keeping his job might increase dramatically.

This seems very reminiscent of the LSU situation with Les Miles. UH Officials said this morning that they presented HC Herman with a new contract on Monday of this week but have not gotten a reply. The expect to lose him within the next 48 hrs...after the Memphis game i'm guessing.

lol, I felt bad for the way Strong was treated. However, he lost to Kansas. He needs to go. For whatever reason, the kids didn't play for him. Qualifying for some stupid bowl today doesn't change anything. It didn't work out. I guess he needs to wait to be fired instead of leaving on his own because of money?
