up 10 in the 4th qtr, goes for it on 4th and goal from the 4

does he really think there's no difference between 10 and 13 points? especially knowing that xtra points are now a short FG?

of course his decision made it easier for the Jets to tie, and the Giants lose in OT

on a sidebar, I'm not sure I've seen any one team suffer as many heartbreaking losses as the 2015 Giants, and bad decisions have played a large part in that

I don't think that was boneheaded.

The calculations say go for it there.

You also have to consider the fact that if they don't get it they have to drive 96 yards vs 75 or less if you kick a fg

well, if they had 96 yards to go, that means they're down 10, which means they only have to move 50 yards to get within 1 score

which is how it all played out

I think Caughlin has shown he is too old and senile to coach this team.

however, I agree with Chop, this decision turned out to be bad but wasn't the worst thing. It only comes up because they didn't get it AND they lost the game. If Bellichek does it and gets it, he is a mad genius.

Tom Caughlin is showing his deficiencies mainly in his poor clock management

Of course.....a horrible decision there. It isn't even one that should be considered.

If it was 4th and 2, not 4th and 4. He was trying to go for a 3 score lead, and with his D, not a bad idea. Originally I thought it was a bad decision, but Francessa brought up great points about why it was actually the right call to go for it. If he gets the 1st down, they can take even more time off the clock. Getting a TD wins the game, getting a FG doesn't do that much, and if he went for the FG to go up by 13, and the Jets score 14 to win, he would have been hammered even worse that he's being hammered now.

He absolutely made the right call in going for it. They are up 10 on a long drive against a gassed defense that was on the field for nearly every second of the 2nd H up to that point. You convert & score a TD there & the game is 99.9% over with the Jets needing 3 scores in a short amount of time versus 2 scores in the same amount.

I don't agree at all. If you go up 13 the jets needs two td''s and two extra points, which have not been automatic this year. Also, let's say the jets do score two td's and have two successful pat's.....you are down one and can still win if you can get in fg range. By not making it....if they score two td's....you are down 4 instead of 1.

To me, it's a horrible decision. If it's at or inside the one.....maybe I can understand it but not 2 full yards.

I don't think he would be getting hammered bad if he kicked the fg there. It's the right move....and I would have thought the same way if they converted.
