Screw Ron Zook, that's to be expected. The biggest story of the day, and maybe the year, is that UTEP is ranked 24th in the BCS!!!!!

that is impressive. But than again you factor in how much of a piece of crap the BCS is and it looks less impressive. The BCS is, was, and will always be complete horse poop. Auburn is dominateding everybody. And there #4. They don't play close games against people like stanford, wake forest or syracuse. The fact is as long as you win you don't drop down. and that is horrible. If you can't beat up on syracuse or wake forest you should drop in the polls (FSU). Hell Michigan beat the #12 team in the country and moved up 1 spot. And that spot was just over the team they beat. No one in the top 10 lost so no one moved position.

I'm convinced if you start the year #1 and win every game by 1 point you'll be playing for the national championship.

That is the biggest problem with college football. People think if you lose 1 game you can't be as good as a team that hasn't lost. Do you know how rare it is that the NFL team with the best regular season record wins the super bowl. It almost never happens. And if college had a playoff you would probably find that it would be the same in college. Because these teams that play easier scheduales and go undefeated would have to play real teams with 1 or 2 losses. And lose

Agreed. I truly think that the teams should be ranked on how they are playing NOW.

Thats why I like the CFN top 117. It rates the teams with how they are playing NOW. Only small consideration w/ pre-season rankings. They have #1-5 as: OU, USC, Auburn, California, Miami.

Their poll is actively changing a lot more than AP/ESPN/BCS. You can check out the last few weeks in the rankings. Also, they have Louisille above Utah.

W/ regards to UTEP. I have been following them all year. I faded them a lot last year, but this year have been w/ them. Altough not last week. I say good for them.

Thats how it should be. How the teams are playing NOW. Not before the season started. I don't care that Auburn started the year like #18. Fact is based on how there playing right now you can't put them #4. Hell. Michigan is a totally differant team NOW than when they lost to ND. Right NOW Michigan is playing great football. Great defense. A QB that is still a freshman but playing much better NOW. And a RB that is among the best NOW. That's the one thing I hate about college football. It should be about how good your football team is NOW. Not 7 weeks ago.

Agreed. I agree in the "how are they playing now" rankings. If a top 5 team plays 3 unranked and squeeks out wins (w/ no offense for example) they should drop!

I do like how Louisville's loss to Miami did not hurt them in the rankings. Its just all screwed up...

I also want a College Playoff, but the BCS people are very against it. You know how much money there is in that??

I think the only way you can based it on how you are playing now, versus taking the whole season into consideration, is if you have a playoff system. And they wont do that yet, you you have to take into account a loss from earlier in the season, even if you are playing better now. Otherwise, why even play a season, go right to a bowl game based on preseason rankings.

LOL. I would love for there to be college playoffs, but it won't happen any time soon.
