Today I am wondering what the hell happened? How could the Spurs go from 2-0, to an elimination game so fast? Well, a little help from NBA refs, failing to start clock on.4 second shot, but that is just David wanting small market team outta here. No conspiracy theories here. Just the facts maam. Fact one, games one and two, in Alamo, were ten point wins, although Lakers were leading in 4th Q. Or made a huge comeback. Two things happened on LA trip. One, Lakers got real physical, but more importantly, they started hard traps on Parker and started packing in deep, allowing free three's. Spurs still have not beat this one adjustment. Parker been stopped since first two. The difference in the first two wins was fast break points. No longer are the Spurs getting easy baskets, or a large advantage of fast break points. Also, #1 defense spurs looking like defenseless bunch in too many matchups. Shaq just destroying Nestor, especially at home where he can camp in lane. I think he is shooting 65% for series. Overall too many 50% games for Lakers, and allowing that does not deserve to win anything. Bowen has not been effective on Kobe, not at all. They had rookie Brown on him in last two minutes, what does that tell you? Lakers also ditched ineffective triangle, now running way more pick or screen and rolls. Everyone can run that, including Payton and Malone. Another great adjustment. They are much more efficient running any offense vs. Kobe creating. Plus it opens up Lakers weak shooters for easy looks. Spacing is great, so is passing. Lakers at home have covered 4 straight ATS, seem to be gelling. Not many refs will call fouls against Lakers there, fearing Jack and Phil. I thought if Spurs squeaked by Lakers in game #5 I would be set. Did not happen, Lakers are not going to wish for another DFish miracle. They wrap it up today. I thought the Spurs had what it takes to go all the way. But sometimes you need a little bit of luck and Stern's blessing. Looks like they had neither. Not saying Lakers are going to win it all, but today they end Spurs chances, especially after emotional rollercoaster game #5 that had Spurs fly off the tracks and crash into a wall. Pop has to undo that wreck and get them reset. Just do not see it, as the damage cannot be undone. $L on Lakers pounded heavily, I helped. Also going +11 on Heat, again. Best Wishes...OF
