Mr. President-elect, surely you know that there is a 'tempest in the teapot' brewing regarding the vault version of your birth certificate. And, only you, Sir, can bring closure to this issue. Mr. Obama, show your birth certificate for the sake of all the people who supported and voted for you... and, also to quiet (once, and for all) the skeptics, naysayers, and people who deem your Presidency 'illegitmate' ::::::::
Dear Mr. President-elect Obama,

With out a doubt, your history making ascension to the highest office in the land has brought, and continues to bring, unexplainable pride to millions of people of color, not just in America... but around the globe. People are rooting for you, as they want you to be a good President.

But on the other hand... there are also millions of others who do not like you, respect you, or want to see you confirmed as the 44th President of these United States. Please understand that for some in that category, it's personal. But there are many, who have not accepted your position, operating out of fear because there remain 'questions' about your life that have not been thoroughly answered.

I am writing this open letter to you today on behalf of both sides. Mr. President-elect, surely you know that there is a 'tempest in the teapot' brewing regarding the vault version of your birth certificate. And, only you, Sir, can bring closure to this issue.

For months now across bloggersville, and... now the issue is surfacing in main line media outlets as well, American citizens–– yes, the ones who voted for you... and the ones who did not–– are 'bewildered' that you feel the need to pay money (in the midst of a recession) to three major law firms to make sure that the American people, who you wish to serve, cannot have access to your birth records in Hawaii or your college transcripts. Speculation is running rampant that you received aid as a foreign student. So, instead of relishing in your victory, those who supported you are having to confront these allegations daily...without documentation or ammunition to counter the claims.

Americans believe you when you say you 'love this country'. However, to allow this birth certificate brouhaha to reach the Supreme Court on December 5, causes many to question your love for the country you want to lead. Why would you allow this issue to proceed to the Supreme Court, knowing the national scab has not fully healed from the Bush vs Gore election which was decided at the SCOTUS level? Unfortunately, Mr. President-elect, whichever decision is handed down by the Justices, will not make this issue go away. And, quite frankly, a Constitutional crisis may be imminent... which could further divide an already divided nation.

I know this birth certificate issue may seem trivial in the scheme of things: National Security briefings, world threats, picking a cabinet, an economic crisis looming large... but to many of our fellow Americans, 'nothing' is more important than the Constitution of the United States. Consequently, you Sir, are the only one who can bring closure to the issue at this juncture.

So, please Mr. Obama... for the sake of all the people who supported and voted for you... and, also to quiet (once, and for all) the skeptics, naysayers, and people who already deem your presidency 'illegitimate', do like Senator John McCain did, and present your birth certificate to the American people today.

Our prayer is that you will do the right thing, put an end to this nonsense... so America can come together and tackle the real issues that face this country.

MJ, what makes you think the 284th thread about this topic will convince those who have disagreed with you in the 283 threads before (not even mentioning how limited the number of people is who read your threads)? Also, as has been pointed out by others before, even if Obama showed the original, people like you would try to find ways not to let this end. You have no proof Obama is illegitimate, so how can you call him that? And in what way do Obama's actions open the door for Schwarzenegger. Do you expect him to claim being a natural American?

I never said I'm not reading your threads - whenever I find the time I amuse myself by reading the nonsense you write. I'm most certainly not obsessed about them, it's just that you always have so many holes in your argumentation that it's easy fun to expose them.
I also never said your threads aren't being read. The point I was making is the same Barman has repeated multiple times - it's ridiculous how worked-up you get trying to get your Hot Political Opinions across, seeing that the RX is a sportsbetting forum and this Politics side forum is only frequented by a rather limited number of readers.

This BC thing may not change anything here either- that is understood- but there is always hope that the Constitution will someday be repected as the great document and guide that it is.
Its an American think. Germans may not understand this- but even if it doesnt change anything - that doesnt mean you should shut-up does it? Sometimes its not about winning- its about saying what you think no matter whose listening or who cares.

I like Obama- i want him to be clean- but hes CFR owned and controlled. So he better get his problem resolved because hes already garnered enough suspicion already. The people have been betrayed for 8 years. Lets at least have a new president who isnt going to yell "National Security" every time a reporter asks a question he doesnt like- "where were you born and will you show us your birth certificate to prove it?"

This is about the crime of misrepresenting yourself when applying for a job.

the DNC is also guilty as far as i am concerned. surely they knew his true origin but believed they could get this problem buried. But the genie in the bottle is out- and the problem is too many people are talking about it. And the people in Kenya are at his birthplace celebrating right now- not even realizing the implications. its a fine mess thats for sure- and he's not even sworn in yet.

I hope this goes to the Supreme Court who will get his real BC and decide whether its genuine American or not.:think2:

I have no proof that what you saying is not true. I don't even say it is not true, because I cannot really know. All I'm saying is that in order to call the person who has been elected President ineligible for that office even though apparently no agency of any kind has, in the course of his life, doubted his citizenship then the burden of proof is on you, and I cannot fail to see that so far the 'proof' is rather thin.

As to my interest in the matter, I guess it's hard to deny that who is or will be the American president is a question that, in one way or another, influences the whole world. But actually I'm not really interested in this issue, I'm bored my the endless repetition of it without any conclusive evidence.

It's not really important, but in Germany the Federal President (currently Koehler) is only nominally the head of state and has almost no actual power. The most powerful politician is the Federal Chancellor (currently Angela Merkel), but even the Chancellor has not the constitutional powers of the American President.
