I agree completely about the cocktail waitresses making great money.

I have been told that some (at the top places) make a ton... Not to mention the part time, tax free income.

You know.... They don't even have people handing out fliers on the strip. They just "prospect" for their own "clients" as they serve the customers and get to know their personalities and ways they spend money with money.

As for dealers... No doubt a large number of them are addicted gamblers themselves and really need to get out of town in the worst way!"



I have no doubt at all about the dealer part of my post, but...

How common do you think the "cocktail waitress/call girl" part is. I have heard credible stories over the years, so I know it happens. Is it pretty common?

Of course, there are exceptions.

I guess percentage wise it can't be common.

Last time I noticed, some of the Grannies at Caesars could not pay someone six figures to take them out.

I used to be out several times a year... but things have changed for right now.

I am just sure... It was at Ballys. In fact I am positive. There was a server who actually had the name "Granny" on her nametag.

Nothing to look at, but the sweetest lady you would ever want to meet.

Also an older lady at the Mirage. Annie on swing shift. Very, very sweet lady and understood the business really well.

When some of the younger "lookers" would get impatient or pissed at the level of tips... Annie would just keep carrying out the drinks and things would work out.

I too am happy for the older ladies who do well.

As you point out FISH... so many of the younger ones are soooo plastic... How will they adjust as they get older?

Unfortunately, probably not very well!

If I want to look at a good-looking woman, it doesnt have to be a cocktail waitress.

I much prefer being treated with respect and have prompt service.

I prefer to look at the women tourists much more.

If you were going to do the call-girl-on-the-side thing, wouldn't it make more sense to just work at one of the strip joints, and then just take some of the guys up on their DAILY offers to take you home for extra cash?

Honestly I had never heard of it before. I think it is one of those types of rumors though that Vegas bosses gladly won't deny. People running things around here like the world to think that truly anything goes, when in fact it kinda doesn't. With the trash they leave on the Strip and all the strip clubs you would think the town is 10% hookers, but frankly I have never known any girl that would do that. It is too easy to be "legal" here because so many guys just spend tons of money on whatever girl they are with and that buys them "service" rights for as long as the money keeps being spent. Even nice girls that I know that won't sleep with a guy right away still expect guys to be extremely generous in this town, sort of the way it goes when there are more single men then women around.

Wives tale. They make enough dough. Don't believe Vegas Confession show on
hbo either. Pure BS. Most rides are under 5 minutes. No chance for long or personal conversation. Do pick up some nice dancers from strip joints. I drove there for about 6 years I hate to admit.

What you describe is exactly what I am talking about. I think it goes on quite a lot.

Worse than hooking, because there is no price tag. I have heard stories of guys getting bled quite badly.


And kyhawk... A few years ago I was actually in the cab with the sort of big blonde driver on the HBO Confessions show. Not the same cab, but she showed me about where they put the cameras and all. I recognized her as soon as I got in. She said she wears an earpiece when they are filming. She has been told before to just sort of "space" and miss turns or dropoffs to keep people talking if they have a juicy story. Most she picks up don't amount to anything, but when she gets a "live" one they try hard to get all the story they need.

The older, fatter waitresses are usually in the Union houses where they have no incentive to keep up their figures.
The better looking girls (Hard Rock, Palms, IP) sign agreements that they won't gain a certain amount of weight and have to maintain an attractive appearance.
Most of these girls are too tired after a shift of walking around in high heels and a full tray of drinks to get into any of those shenanigans after work. The ones a know are a cross-section of people. Some gambling degenerates, some lesbians, some students working through school, and some sweethearts (the same cross-section you'll find in any other line of work).
The myth of taking the cocktail waitress home was perpetuated by the movie "Swingers".
