I find myself changing the channel instantly once i hear that segment popping up. Something tells me First Take gets a spike in ratings when that segment goes on.
the whole segment is shit- particularly the people they have representing years of success in certain cities. lasorda for LA was one of the few good ones, but when papelbon represented boston it was a joke- he didn't even mention the Celtics championships which is one of the main reasons Boston should be considered. Go out and get someone knowledgeable about history a la Bill Russell.
It is just as pointless as when they tried finding America's top athlete.. it is impossible to even compare Kobe Bryant to historic players in the same sport, let alone trying to figure out if he is better than A-Rod or Danica Patrick. I wonder what ESPN has in store for us next- maybe America's favorite sport? They will start off with the 16 seed Shuffleboard facing off against 1 seed NFL.
90% of espn hires are trash. Fox sports west doesnt use the teleprompter. Nothing worse than one of these talking heads reading a teleprompter of a tennis highlight from a writer that has never hit a ball in his life.
How about the small towns they put on that stupid ****. I mean are we really comparing Valdosta Ga to Boston or Chicago? It's an idiotic segmant. Personally I'd like to see College Gameday 24 hours a day until the season starts.
Don't care about Parkesrburg West Va.
And I really don't care about Favre anymore.
ESPN needs to know, this is 2008, not 1993 anymore, we can get our sports information from a gazillion other sources now.
boston was done horribly compared to these small-time places. Seems like every summer they feed us crap with a road trip series. I would prefer the make a wish segment the whole summer than this shit.
