This is OK but only 1/2 true.... Even a brand new tire if it is not inflated properly especially if overloaded will fail... How are these people going to prove they did not neglect tire pressure? Tire air pressure is much more important than tread depth & age & I cannot stress that enough.

while what you say is true..how can you defend people selling tires as new when they are 12 years old?

Disappointed in Stossel for this story. He usually does good work. This piece is simply a trial lawyer's hit job. Although I did like learning how to determine age of tire.

I said 1/2 true a 12 year old & underinflated tire would really be dangerous.
