I was going to say put them on unpaid administrative leave until TrumpOff the top of my head:
- No congressman can be a lobbyist, ever.
- Term limits, maybe 12 total years total
- Spouse/siblings of congressmen cannot have business relationships with foreign countries unless they are in place before elected, and then they need to be monitored for new business
- Spouse/siblings cannot work for law firms with any significant relationship with the government
- Congressmen cannot purchase new stocks, bonds, precious metals, nor real estate (other than their own homes)
- Congressmen with law degrees need to be restricted in some ways for employment after their terms
- Congressmen need to be restricted as it relates to large donations... full disclosure, NO money from foreign entities, EVER
These are the foundation of what needs to be done, this and other new regulations need to be appropriately structured with some fairness of course for Senators and House Reps to be able to earn a living, but without blatant corruption as it now exists.
is out of office but your plan would probably work.
