Time for a break........

What a difference six weeks make !!

At the end of December I was in first place in both Rx contests, my picks thread was averaging 1,000+ views per day, my agreed plays with Tater were close to 70% overall and my website (which I have temporarily closed.....so please don't take this as a plug) was getting several hundred hits per day.

Since New Year's I haven't been able to pick my ass with both hands in my back pockets !!!

It has reached the point where I can't just blame bad luck....even though I have had my share of it.....and it has clearly reached the point where I need to take a step back.

So I am doing just that. For at least a week...maybe longer. However long it takes to clear the cobwebs from the brain and then figure out something that works for this part of the season.

It seems that what I do works very well when all teams are "on their games" (hence my early season success and my 36-19 playoff record last year)....but not as well in late season as some teams begin just playing out the string.

Whatever the case, a change needs to be made and that doesn't happen overnight.

I didn't want to just "disappear" so I'm making this post. Hopefully I will be back in early March and the magic can be reclaimed.

So here I sit at 6:20 Pacific Time on a weekday in February and I'm not watching an NBA game. Weird !! My dogs are scared because I am sitting here quietly (as opposed to pacing back and forth in front of the tv and yelling at it) and they think there is something wrong with me. As for me....well....I am noticing things I never noticed before like.....the walls in my house have wood paneling and the carpet is an ugly burgendy color. Hmmmm....maybe this will be the day I visit my back yard !!

But seriously.....I truly appreciate the posts. All of you guys SpoSav, O-R, Tate City, Arth, GaryP and Nyte.....have been here for the entire rise & fall and I have appreciated all of your posts from day one.

As for me coming back....well I would make the line something like this......:

Number of days Zapster stays away from the NBA........:

Zapster UNDER 9.5

I think that might be my first lock of the season !!
