Lakers -3

this is free money from the books

the lakers got off to a great start - then have a ton of injuries and now the unbeatable lakers are now beatable. or so the league may think.

the lakers are now getting healthy.

this is what is known as a "message game." the lakers are going to send a message to the entire nba that the nba title run STILL goes thru the corner of 11th and figueroa in LA.

this is the lakers' last home game until Feb. 17 - almost 3 weeks. tuedsya the clippers played their last home game until around the same time and ran da bulls off the court. i know the bulls aren't the wolves - but then the clippers aren't the lakers.

laying -3 is a cheap line for what it tells me is that on a neutral court the wolves wouldbe around -1 - and even that is laughable.

as i said - the lakers send a message to the entire nba that "we are back" tonite with a solid showing - knowing sportscenter is going to lead off with this game - and they want the nation to know!

Lakers -3 - EASY!

that would be correct. also think that might get this line down to -2. either way - not 1 bit nervous about my pick at all.

Timberwolves win this one easy, there is no way Shaq is going to play 45 minutes..

Even if he poored in 30, Minnesota will still win by 5-6 points...

Phil commented this mourning that Shaqs legs are sore and will need time to work into 20-30 minutes of play...doubt he will go more than that tonight...

still like the pick Winky? It is LA -1.5 now...

I like the Lakers in this spot, but all this talk is scaring me now.

Winky,

I'm with you, I was at the game the other night @ GS and Minny looked flat. They got nothing out of Sam, and weren't playing good D. If a banged up GS team can put it to them, then so can the Lake Show. The spread looks real fishy, and you're right this definately is a message game. Only problem is on paper this game scares the crap out of me to bet it any kind of big.

Winky, I think you may have underestimated a very solid T-wolves squad. Lakers will be a risky team to bet until all of their stars return. T-wolves playing pretty good ball right now. Beware playing against them.
