LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay has had conversations with former Oakland receiver Tim Brown and the agent for holdout receiver Keenan McCardell, but neither has signed.

General manager Bruce Allen said Monday that he plans to talk to Brown again soon. Brown was released last week by Oakland and said he planned to spend the weekend weighing his options.

Allen said he's not concerned with Brown's age, 38, or that he might have slowed a step.

"I'll just let the Tim Brown situation resolve itself," said coach Jon Gruden, who coached Brown in Oakland.

"If you know Tim, Tim is sought-after right now. There are a lot of people who I am sure would like his services."

That was the article posted earlier on CBSSportsline.....

But espn just reported that he has signed with Tampa Bay..

This definitely gives us some insurance in case McCardell doesnt sign.....

Brown still has some play left in him, and putting him back in the Gruden offense cant hurt...

Bucsfan,

Long time no see.

Thanx for that post. Good signing by TB in my opinion. Brown is a Gruden guy. He should create a good rapport with Brad Johnson.

General, the guy that carried them last year can bring a ton to the young guys, Keenan that is. Give the guy a little bit more money like he deserves for the show he put on last year. I don't normally agree with such players holding out for more, but this guy deserves it when many times players under contract holding out simply don't.........

I believe this is EXCELLENT news for the Bucs, particulary for rookie Michael Clayton.

He can learn from one of the all-time greats.
