Ok so here's the lineup for the game. Base on the batters Zito should get smoked today. However I dont trust the bullpen for the Tigers. They already gave up 5 runs the other day in 2 innings to SF. Best bet would be to take Detroit first half. Detroit has all the goods in the lineup to take the series.

Featured Free Pick
GAME: Detroit Tigers @ San Francisco Giants Jun 18, 2008 3:45PM
EXPERT: Stephen Nover
SPORT: Major League Baseball Picks
PICK: Detroit Tigers
Offered at: -142 5Dimes
REASON FOR PICK: Maybe Barry Zito can win a home game for the Giants. Yeah, and maybe the price of gas will start going down.

Wishing is one thing, reality is another. The Giants' reality is they have dropped six of their last seven home games, have failed to score more than three runs in five of their last seven games and aren't good enough to beat any quality club unless Tim Lincecum is pitching.

Zito is not Lincecum. He's the free agent bust poster child. Zito is 0-6 at AT&T Park this season with a 6.60 ERA. The southpaw is 0-4 in day games with an ERA of close to 8.00.

The Tigers are 11-5 versus lefties. They are hitting close to .300 against them. Detroit is coming on, winning nine of its last 11 games.

There's a big differrence between these teams. The Tigers are much better. The pitching matchup favors Detroit, too.

Rookie Armando Galarraga has been more than solid, especially on the road and in day contests. He's 4-1 away from Detroit with a 2.23 ERA. He's also 3-0 during the day with an ERA under 2.00.

The Tigers have won eight of Galarraga's 10 starts. The Giants are 1-7 in interleague action this season.

Just banged under 4 runs SF.
g/l

Die hard Yankee fan here, but looking tonight to fade them as the feeling here is Peavy shuts down our bats.

No play as of yet, still capping it.

Best of luck again.

After looking at this game since 10am today I have covered all angels and everything points towards Detroit winning.

I feel if Detroit is going to try to make a run they need to stay hot winning and they have done that winning their past 8 of 10 games and they need to keep it rolling by winning on the ROAD. With that said today is their chance to keep things rolling with Zito a left hand pitcher which the Tigers love to feast off on and sending Galarraga up to counter should be a nice outing for Detroit.

Also not to mention Detroit has their best lineup today facing Zito.

Good luck to all...

Consider the r/l, if they get to Zito, and they should, this game will be a blowout.

What a waste. basesloaded 1 out and they can't even punch in any more runs. We got Granderson trying to go for a grandslam and flys out. Small hits is the key not no superstar crap.

Anyways I'll take the 2-0 lead for now and hope they feast more off Zito over the next 4 - 5 innings to come.

If they want any hope at catching the Dub Sox they need to pick up games like this.. take advantage of when their hitters are hitting, because their pitching is par at best... bullpen is woof!%
