Many baseball insiders believe the Detroit Tigers want to trade Kenny Rogers, who was placed on waivers Friday, the Detroit Free Press reports.
The deadline to set postseason rosters is Sunday. Today the Tigers will know which of the several players they placed on waivers Friday have been claimed.
Rogers told the newspaper Monday that he was unaware of any trade talks involving him.
"Dealing in hypotheticals is very difficult -- I'm not one to do that," Rogers told the Free Press. "I haven't thought about a deadline. I'm not worried about one, that's for sure." Rogers is 9-11 with a 5.09 ERA in 27 starts.
