As long as he isn't out there looking like Helen Keller around the greens that's not a bad bet. Top 50 make the cut so if you assume he can beat 7 amateurs and 7 or 8 guys who are too old to compete at this point he looks to have a good chance with the smallish 98 player field. That said, if chips it like he did at Phoenix and Torrey, this golf course will punish him.

I did consider these things...thx for reaffirming. The bet looks pretty decent considering this...which means he will probably blow up today. I should have hedged with "YES" he will withdraw.

Supposedly he had a really good practice round. Mickelson said his chipping was back to normal.

98 players teeing off. At least 50 make the cut. 7 amateurs. 8-10 past champions just taking up space.

He has to do better than about 32 other players out of the rest. Morning tee-time on day 2 will really help him.

The line went to -150 to make the cut at my book.

I re-read my post and I came off wrong. It was just a genuine question as I only got to watch the back 9. I just didn't know if I was missing something is all.

The swing on his 2nd shot on 9 was scary. Shots like that shouldn't even be on his radar. Short game was solid today. Kept him alive to make the cut. Clear he's still a long way from contending.
