Just a note on UNI.... I might be done betting on this team or I'll be watching to bet against them in situations because they appear to be losing their mojo. Something must be wrong when they can't beat a bottom of the conference team with multiple injuries. They've also lost to almost every big name school this year except the two top ranked UNC and Iowa St. Perhaps they get hyped up for the big ones and bring it and then underestimate everyone else and think they can skate through. WRONG thinking but thats starting to seem like what it might have been in my eyes. Just beware backing them guys until they can prove they aren't crumbling. For today I got one I'm posting early.
Purdue -7.5 - This line seems big possibly and that is because nobody knows whether or not Caris LeVert is playing. Well I'm not going to say for sure, but I don't think he will play. He aggravated the same foot that he broke last year. If it were a small ankle sprain I would think he should of been over it after 3.5 days rest before last game. Yet Beilein is still being quiet about it all and only saying he is day to day. I think he might be missing quite a few games and if he does come back its on a re aggravated previously broken left foot. That being said lets get to some basketball talk. Michigan is deadly behind the 3 point arc and that is how they win majority of their games. They have multiple guys that shoot the three at a very high rate. A couple guys over 50%! However, today they face a team that is 12th in the country defending the 3, 1st in fg% allowed and 6th in ppg allowed. This is not the team that Michigan will match up well against. Another reason is that great 3 point shooting is most of the time created by Caris Levert. He is the main man who drives and kicks, creates openings or draws guys down away from the perimeter leaving his other sharp shooters open. If he's not there tonight then they've lost their #1 threat and main tool on offense that does it all for them. If it weren't for him in the Illinois game they very well may have lost. Wait, thats not all. Michigan has a fairly week inside game and not the greatest rebounding team. They rank 302nd in offensive rebounds going against a Purdue team that is 28th in defensive boards. Purdue also sits at 5th in country in offensive rebounding. This could pose a serious problem since Purdue has a 7'2" Isaac Haas, 7'0" AJ Hammons and 6'9" Caleb Swanigan. These guys can rebound and they should create some big problems down low for a team like Michigan who a lot of times has 4 guards on the court. All these things coupled with the fact that Purdue just blew a huge half time lead to Iowa, a game that may end up costing them. Purdue is chomping at the bits to get back out on its home court and show the nation and the conference they are for real! I'll lay the points now and not wait to see if LeVert is really out because if he is this line goes up imo. This home measly 30% public favorite is gonna lay a whooping tonight.
Good Luck guys!
