espn is showing the game @ 5P (PDT) between henderson, nv and thousand oaks, ca

as a CA resident - i am pulling for oaks but that is not the story here

one of the coaches for NV is ken white - as in the linesmaker for many (most?) NV casinos. if you watch the game - especially the start of the telecast - my guess is you will see Ken and his son, T.J.

wonder what Ken would make the line for the game?

maybe Railbird can chime in here with one.

The Green Valley team lost to Conejo Valley 7-4 in the first matchup. Green Valley is loaded and I would like them in the rematch at a juicy dog price.

Ive seen Conejo Valley play several times this year, saw them 3 times in Long Beach and 3 times in SanBernadino. This game is for the Western region championship, but really for the National Championship as these are clearly the 2 best teams in the country.

Green Valley will be pitching Parker a 6'0 black kid, Conejo is throwing Cody Johnson hard thrwoing 6'1 kid with a sharp cball and a 75 mph fb. Green Valley hit about 6 dingers last game, and have very hot bats. Green Valley touched up Johnson for 2 dingers in a 7-4 loss last Friday.

I will be making the trip to Al Houghton stadium, Im rooting for T. Oaks. Jordan Brower, mustache Danny, John Lister all tearing the cover off the ball, they are very tough defensivley.

I send it in pretty good on these games and dont want to tip my hand by making a line for the books that post numbers.

Both contingents are very confident they can win.

Rail and others,
The pitcher for G.Valley is Cameron Harper. He is their #2 pitcher as the ace was used up and will be at SS today.
Conejo's pitcher is Cody Thompson. Thompson struck out 12 in Conejo's 7-4 win over Green Valley.
GV chased many of Thompson's curveballs in the last loss and the coach has said they have been working on their plate discipline. Green Valley trounced every other opponent they faced.

I predict that if they show some plate discipline Green Valley gets the nod in a revenge match.
Hope the info helps.

I think it's hilarious to hear you guys talk about betting on 12 year-olds. If you can win at it, more power to you. It just sounds funny.

Green and others,

I was at the game, yes forgot the kids name, Harper 6'0 kid with blond hair. This is a pitching mismatch in favor of Conejo. Thousand Oaks is 18-0 and they dont run up the score against weak opponents like Henderson does. Its one of the reasons Green Valley had a kid beaned in the head on Tuesday. Green Valley coach calling timeout up 15-1 to talk to a hitter becasue he missed a sign.

Everything Green Valley does, Conejo Valley does better. Conejo is silly good defensively, I dont remember them making an error in the 6 games Ive seen them play. Cody Johnson has a SICK curveball and throws very hard.

Im on Conejo -1.5 -110 runs, I suggest others do the same.

Conejo does NOT strikeout 1-9, they all ut the bat on the ball, Cody Johnson bats 7th in the lineup and he hit a 340 foot homer against green valley last Friday.

I havent been this geeked up about a game in my life

rail,
go to lvrj.com

Click on sports. Joe Hawk's column gives most of the insight that I posted earlier.
Hope it helps.

Obviously, I am rooting for the hometown boys.

Great game 8-5 Conejo Winner, Green Valley played em tough, maybe they start the lefty and let him go distance game is diffrent outcome?

Conejo good hitting fb team, and they dont bring in lefty until its 4-0. Conejo Vallery coach also lame trying to bunt with 2 strikes 1st and 2nd nobody out.

Green Valley probably top 5 team in the country, just behind Conejo Vallley, Aliso Viejo, San Pedro, Palos Verdes.

Rail, do you think that Owensboro Kentucky team has a shot at Conejo Valley in the U.S. Bracket? I see they have a pitcher that struck out 17 of 19 batters in their final game against some team from Indiana.

seemed that Conejo reliever was better than the "ACE" Was that just a hot outing for him or are they really as similar as they appeared last night. I don't think that California team is a super strong offensive ballclub by any means. They will really struggle to score against a dominant pitcher it would appear to me.

Cody Johnson pitched in relief game 2 days before and has pitched every 5 days since April, so he is little gassed. Cody dominated first time around line up. He will enjoy the 10 day rest. Conejo goes deep with their pitching. Leon has sore arm, Jordan Brower very tough and they have a LHP outfielder that throws a nasty 12 to 6 cb.

Cole Sturegon can toss, Ky cant hit the ball though. Cole Sturegon will get his feelings hurt when he pitches to mustache Danny or John Lister.

Conejo faced a much tougher field in their Long Beach regional, than what they will see in Williamsport.

Saticoy, San Pedro, Aliso Viejo, Green Valley, all better than anything that is representing in Pa.

Conejo was impressive, they shut the door on a rallying Vegas sqaud. Congrats, and best of luck. I'm sure Rail will be rooting them on all the way.
