3X-- BOSTON RED SOX (PK)
The ESPN day game for this week matches two of the best in the business this year. Both teams have a gigantic stake in the way the post-season is shaping up. At this point, the teams are battling for a Wild Card spot, but they could soon sniff the front runners of their division. I see a decided edge for the visitors here. With the unpredictable nature of the knuckleball, Tim Wakefield becomes an X factor in a game like today. He enters 9-5 YTD with an ERA of 4.16 in 26 games. Moreover, he has had good success against the A's. He is 7-4 with a 4.31 ERA lifetime. I expect him to be on his game this afternoon. Ted Lilly, on the other hand, brings his struggles with him. Boston has had plenty of experience against Lilly when he was a Yankee. Lilly enters with a poor 6-9 mark and a 4.86 ERA. He is 0-2 in his career against Boston with a 4.86 ERA. The Boston hitters should get to Lilly and hit him hard. Boston may have to score a big number, but they should win this game and get out of town with a split.

Good Luck.

I should have read your prediction before I bet on Oakland. I thought the A's would bounce back.

Nice pick!
