My Projected Lines and the odds

Bookmakers opened Colorado at around 2.80 and they dropped those odds to around 2.65 and anyone, who played them for the first price has a nice value. I have projected, that Colorado should be the underdog of around 2.90, which doesn’t give the mathematical value, but sometimes I go against my numbers, based on other information. And this is today’s only play where I go against my numbers.

Match Up
Colorado Avalanche will start with Calvin Pickard, who is playing well this season. In fact he is playing better than their first goalie Varlamov, who has bad record and even worse SV% than Pickard. Calvin Pickard is 4-3 to the season and he has been great on the road with the record of 3-0 and SV% of 93.2%. His team Colorado is not playing well this season and they are for me personally big dissapointment. But still, they are good on the road against winning teams. They have 14 wins in last 22 games on the road against winning teams and what they do well is playing against Boston. In last 10 games against Boston, Colorado won 9. So, the story becomes even more interesting, because Boston could play without their best center Patrice Bergeron, who is waiting for suspension. Boston played a tough game yesterday against Washington on the road and they had to travel back home and their legs will be tired for sure, because they played overtime yesterday. And guess what, they lost 5 of last 6 games, when they were on 0 days rest.

Reason for pick
I usually don’t go against my math model, which predicts the outcomes of the games, but sometimes I go with my gut feeling and taking into account some other information. Colorado always play well against Boston, they also play better on the road, especially against winning teams. They will start with goalie, who is 3-0 on the road and they will face tired Boston team, who played yesterday an overtime game versus Washington. Boston is 1-5 in this situation.

Good info, as always.

Boston has not been very good at home in recent years. This year a mediocre 7-5.

Avs have lost 6 straight & given up over 2.5 goals in each of them, though it was Varlamov in net in most of them.

Best of luck tonight.
