Thursday w/ a horsesh*t card

Decent wednesday with two DD ATS winners (GW and Miss St.) and a loss with S. Miss -- I am just furious with myself for that S. Miss play.

Today's card blows -- Looking closer at two potential plays -- Santa Clara (-4 1/2) over portland and Stanford 1st half (-6) over Oregon St. -- not sure yet about either and may lay low and start working on Saturday's card.

Although this one was on my radar screen, it wasn't a top choice until I saw a number of cappers going the other way and the line moved in my direction -- I don't understand the public on this on AT ALL and I couldn't resist taking a shot when I got the right line.

DUKE -17 over florida st.

As an FYI, I also put a fraction of my overall bet on the 1st half to hedge against the backdoor, but for purposes of my record here will go with the game -- This one gets ugly.

My take is that TV games include an added emotional factor -- you will often see sharps going with home dogs in national TV games for that exact reason -- they went 1-1 last week with duke covering at Maryland and Florida St getting the outright win over north carolina.

A big factor in my decision to play Duke tonight is that FSU is coming off two very emotionally draining home victories and is due to come out flat -- on the other hand, Duke cruised against Georgetown and is well aware that FSU just beat NC and WF outright -- Duke will be very motivated to show the country that they are the cream of the ACC crop -- add in a dash of the public jumping on the FSU bandwagon to get a point and a half drop on the line and I have myself a very good play.

Line is low b/c FSU is known for good defensive play -- however, they are very limited (imho) on the offensive end -- Duke plays suffocating D and I think it is a coin flip as to whether FSU scores 55 points here.

Duke will score their points (75-85), but I think it is coin-flip as to whether FSU gets enough to go over the total -- last two road games they scored 48 (at Clemson) and 67 (at Virginia) -- Duke's defense is FAR SUPERIOR to either of those teams.

i like the duke play. fsu has beat wake, unc and maryland, but all at home.
i could see duke only winnin by ten though.

FSU, i just don't see the seminoles having enough in the tank to keep this one within the number -- I will be very, very impressed (and poorer) if they do.
