New York Jets (+3.5) @ New England Patriots
Over/Under 41.5
Line Source: scoresandodds

The Jets travel to New England tonight to take on the Patriots, in what we will be a showdown to remember. The legend and sure-fire future Hall of Fame Favre head-to-head with Brady's replacement Cassel. Sounds like a disadvantage already. Many people didn't expect Favre to be leading the Jets to a 6-3 record halfway through the season, however the same could be said about Cassel. The Jets schedule isn't all to scary so far this season, but they do hold wins at Buffalo and home to the Cardinals; in which Favre threw for 6 TD's that day! The Patriots hold wins over the Rams, 49ers, Chiefs, and defenseless Broncos. They have beat the Jets once already this season, 19-10; but this Jets team is different tonight! Favre was only 2 weeks in with his new team, he didn't know the system let alone the plays to much. Things have changed since then. The Jets have a legit passing game, with a running game better than the Patriots. The Patriots don't want to get into a shootout with the Jets, because Favre is the master of that.

These two head coaches know each other way to much. But the Patriots won't have alot of the same weapons they have had in the past when they played the Jets. No Tom brady, Rodney Harrison, Adalius Thomas who was in juried last week, just to name a few. Adalius Thomas was the best LB the Patriots had, and now that he's gone they will struggle to find a replacement for him in such a short notice. Add in losing Samuel to Philly in the off season and the age of this defense, and Favre may have himself a night to remember.

Both of these teams are 6-3 on the season, 4-1 at home, 2-2 on the road, 2-1 in the division, and 4-3 in conf. play, and 5-4 ATS on the season. Something has to change!

Favre and the Jets know what's on the line in tonights game. The Patriots have dominated the AFC East for years now. The Jets got Favre for this exact reason, to beat the Patriots. Tonight the Jets get their wish, as I look for Favre to manage the game, stick with the run, and be wise with the throws he makes. Jets have the slightly better edge to win this game straight up, and if your going to give me 3.5 points with the Jets in a game that could be decided by a last minute FG or which team has the ball last, I'll roll my dive and make the Jets a 5* play.

5* Thursday Night Game of the Year New York Jets +3.5

That's the chance I am willing to take YankeesRule. What alot of people won't realize, oddmakers themselves, that both of these teams are completely different then the first time they have met. The Jets matured a lot, and have come a long way to be tied for first place in the AFC East with the mightly Patriots. The public will view this line as soft because their view of this Patriots team is a mastermind coach and all the zig-zags that go with it. I may be wrong, I've lost bets in the past as I'm sure you have, but tonight the table turns in favor of the Jets as I think they have a chance to win this game outright! The line has already moved down to +3.. I wouldn't be suprised to see it at +2.5 before game time. Good luck!

I'm aware of the rain situation, I'm from Connecticut and actually have a couple of my friends going up to the game in which I'll be in touch with to find out the exact weather at the stadium prior to game time. I just think the Jets have the better running game against a Patriots defense missing their best LB in Thomas. The Jets, if you haven't noticed, are actually pretty decent against the run.

I'm all over the Cowboys -1.5 as well for Sunday!

Welcome to the RX and good luck with your game! I think you might be on the right side however a divisional game that has traditionally gone back and forth and aside from the occasional blowout and NE's dominance the last few years I find this a tough game to be GOY material, both teams are coming into thier own with their new quarterbacks and this could go either way, the only reason I am leaning NY is because of that HALF point that could be very helpful tonight! Again Good Luck!

Both teams are coming in with new QB's but I believe only the Jets QB is battle tested for very important division games like this. Favre has been there before playing the likes of Chicago and Minnesota, he knows what it's like to be in this type of game. Cassel, he's done a great job filling in for Brady, but the guy didn't even start a game in college I believe. He was thrown into the fire in New England, and now has probably the most important game of his short career tonight. Can he handle the pressure? These Jets are to decent of a team to let New England sweep them this season. And your also going to give me the hook with +3.5.. gotta love it. I locked it in at +3.5 I know the line has now moved. I would still take it +3 with the same amount of confidence.

Game of the year!

I still think tonight's best play is to not make one...could go either way.

If I was forced to make a bet I would go with Pats to win and squeak out a cover.

BOL!

I like the under as well in this game. But I just feel these Jets have something to prove, and tonight they will showcase that. They laid back last week and destroyed the Rams. They didn't have to try their hardest, they made it look easy, they probably have more energy then the Patriots.. they had to grind one out last week against the Bills. Two good coaches, know each other way to well, I'll take the points.

Cassel is playing much better than the first time they met. He will dink pass Jets to death and NE D is playing great of late.

I know this forum isn't the place for it, and if I had a online account I'd bet it, but everyone should be all over the Bulls in the 1st quater as well as the 1st half over the Mavericks. Other good bets: UCLA -16.5, Bulls +2 (consider ML), Nuggets +7 (consider ML)

Right.. but name me a team the Pats have played this season who have a passing game or a smart QB like the Jets? The Pats haven't played anyone this season legit enough to mention. And the Pats playing great defense? Perhaps.. watch how they crumble without Adalius Thomas in there tonight.. that's their anchor.

And Thomas Jones.. very underratted RB in this league!
