1-4, -3.21 units. Lucky to be down only 3 units so far considering being 1-4.
Washington -1 (-122). 3 units. Let's consider that Zach Wheeler looks very good Thursday, pitches like the ace he may some day become. He'll only go about 5-6 innings at most, and then the Mets' bullpen come in to blow it all up. With closer Parnell out, this bullpen looks about as bad as the previous 2 years. Maybe worse. Zimmerman was incredibly good in the spring, trying to prove that he is a top of the rotation starter again. 18 IPs, 11 hits, one walk and 0 HR. The Nats bullpen is also very deep and very solid. The Mets, meanwhile, remind of the Phillies- destined for mediocrity(at best).
Chicago/ Minnesota- over 7.5. One unit. Both Hughes and Quintanna combined for 32 runs in their spring starts- in about 30 innings. Both pitch to contact. Hughes seems to have lost all confidence, while Quintanna gave up a .375 BAA. Remember, this is in the spring, vs. many AAA and AA players, and other scrubs. Both have decent bullpens, but 7.5 seems like a very good #- especially in the AL.
KC +145. One unit. I'm a glutton for punishment, but this game seems like a spring training warm up for Anibal Sanchez. He's had shoulder soreness in his throwing arm, and I have a feeling the Tigers won't want him to push it. He hasn't pitched much this spring. The Tigers still aren't hitting, although KC is about the same. Yordano Ventura has looked very sharp for KC, and looks like he can harness his high 90s fastball. Only 6 BBs in 23 spring innings.
