be careful....valbuena`s geting a little long in the tooth, but,he`s a tough lefty that has only lost to the top drawer guys(yober ortega and marco antonio barrera).....

he`s not afraid to fight on the road....i think this one`s a toughie....

a little home court edge to vasquez(a mexican fighting in l.a.).....

Agreed! This is very close, so my wager is
somewhat reduced. For me , a VERY slight edge
to Vasquez only, but worth a small investment.
And to, Vasquez has Freddie Roach backing him
up, which is never a bad thing.

i`ve begun to believe that some of these ex-fighters that have become "super trainers" are over hyped.....

i don`t believe that about roach....roach is solid....

Sphinc,

What do you think about Joe Goosen, who I believe will be in the corner of Valbuena?

And what do you mean by "long in the tooth"?

Thanks!

valbuena is 33.....not necessarily over the hill....as a matter of fact,i can say with confidence that valbuena isn`t over the hill at 33....but,his time is running out....

one good thing for franks is that vasquez is a "golden boy productions" fighter....it`s always good to have the promoter in your corner....

b.l....goosen is one of the best...i sense you think highly of him...if that`s the case,i agree with you...i don`t like the guy, but,he`s good....and not just as a trainer....the goosen`s are about as savvy as any bunch in boxing...and i understand that shane mosley might be hiring goosen...that`s got to help shane immensely...he`s been clueless in many of his recent fights...

To go off on a tangent a bit, regarding Shane,
he originally had Cedric Kushner as his guy.
What a meatball, as far as I am concerned(CK).
Poor Shane! Mismanged me thinks. I do like and
respect the Goosen clan. Very sharp cookies.
Hey Gil, I got Vasquez @-115, IF you read the
first post. But anytime you see a good number,
I am interested!

whew....i know those body shots had you a bit worried...good thing jen kin was calling those low blows....and couple that weren`t low...

congrats...i enjoyed the hell out of the bout....i didn`t remember valbuena keeping his chin up like that vs barrera....freddy roach was right on it...i heard him telling vasquez that valbuena was backing up with his chin up...great advice....

good job..

Oh yea! Had I not bet I don't know that I would
have watched that fight. Really enjoyed it.
I think Valbuena needs some counseling! He hits
Vazquez low and raises his hands in victory!
Well, a W is a W.
