Here are tonight's selections:

5 Units So Mississippi -17.5 -101

Houston "we have a problem." And that problem is offense....and defense! The Cougs, who lost 41-14 to Memphis last week, now have the Conference Champion Southern Mississippi Eagles to contend with in Hattiesburg. Last year, the Eagles won 31-10. Any relation to last year's Houston offense (34 points and over 200 yards rushing and passing per game) is a mirage. In 2004, the Cougars are averaging just 16 points and 342 total yards. On Saturday, Houston (1-4 SU, ATS) was led by QB Kevin Kolb who completed 18-of-27 passes for 220 yards with a touchdown and WR Vincent Marshall who caught eight passes for 131 yards with a touchdown. Memphis piled up 501 yards of total offense while the Cougars had just 285 yards. While the Tigers were averaging close to seven yards per rushing attempt, Houston checked out with only 1.7 yard per carry! The Eagles, meanwhile, scored a 27-20 win over the South Florida Bulls. QB Dustin Almond threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns and Southern Mississippi's defense held USF to just 205 yards of total offense and only 55 yards on the ground. Houston has a big problem Saturday, as their ground attack will be mired in the mud in Hattiesburg.

7 Units Clemson +16.5 -113

Clemson (1-3 SU, 0-4 ATS) has fallen on hard times in the ACC, dropping to 1-2. So this is a key game for them, but it won't be easy against (4-0) Virginia. Clemson's defense has been getting blasted, losing three in a row to Georgia Tech, Texas A&M and Florida State. QB Charlie Whitehurst has no help from his defense or running game and that's a big reason he has 5 TDs and 10 INTs. Virginia (4-0 SU/3-1 ATS) has excellent balance behind QB Marques Hagans and RB Wali Lundy, averaging 45 points, 284 yards rushing and 216 passing per game. This will be the toughest opponent yet for Virginia, however, and the last three years these ACC rivals have played close, hard fought battles. Clemson won 30-27 last year and Virginia won 22-17 and 26-24 the previous two years. The dog is 3-0 ATS the last three meetings. The Tigers were overrated entering this season, but they still should be able to keep this close as they are not as bad as they've appeared the last three games.

Good Luck Tonight,

Here is tonight's selection.

3 Units UNLV +10.5 -108

Close hard fought games with exciting finishes! That's what this series has provided over the last 4 seasons! BYU (2-3 SU, 3-2 ATS) won in 2000 and '01, 10-7 and 35-31. The Rebels (1-4 SU, 1-3 ATS) won in 2002 in Provo, 24-3 as a 10 point dog. Last year's game went to OT, with BYU pulling out a 27-20 win in Las Vegas. UNLV responded to John Robinson's retirement announcement by bouncing Nevada, 48-13 as a 6 point fave. BYU rebounded well from a tough early season slate with last week's win at Fort Collins, and should challenge for a runner-up spot in the M-West to Utah. In this particular contest, the Rebel offense will be their undoing. UNLV's secondary is quicker than the Cougar receivers, but the Rebels will continue to make costly mistakes on offense. Last week's win was a one week aberration. BYU goes to 2-0 in conference play.

All Star,
Once again, I am confused by your write-up. You've picked UNLV, but the last two sentences sure seem to endorse BYU (who I happen to like in this one, for the some of the same reasons you have cited).
