This is a good site, yet it can also be a strange site. I'd love to talk to everyone about why they choose to post here, or why they post their plays at all. Anyone who'd like to share that is this thread is invited to do so.

After a winning day I like to crow a little. Most of you know that about me. I like to come back and post how many units I won and so forth. I try to be as humble as possible, of course, and to keep my ego out of it -- I never want to come across as boasting.

Of course, the problem with this is that then I have a losing day, and then instead of crowing I'm eating crow. Tuesday I had a 4-1 day with bases and baskets, then Wednesday I turned that around and went 1-5. Ah, the ups and downs of the wagering life.

Please indulge me a little when I crow. I just don't have anyone else that I can tell, "Hey, I had a winning day!" My wife doesn't care. If I say that to her, she only says, "Show me the money." So I figure this is one place in this world that I can freely proclaim: hey, I had a winning day!, and you'll understand that it feels good to do so. You all know that feeling.

And thanks for not bashing and belittling me when I lose the next day. Most of you are very kind. You congratulate me when I win and then say nothing when I lose. You know I feel bad enough as it is, without someone rubbing it in my nose. That is great and I appreciate it.

I like you guys. I think this is a good site and can be a great site. There are so many good cappers here, and people can actually pick up info that, in the long run, allows them to make money. Let's always appreciate the preciousness of that.

Let's treat each other with respect, guys. This is one great commodity that money can't buy, yet we can give it to each other. Treat each other with respect. I think this is one principle worth living by.

Have a great night. I have only one play to offer you tonight. I hope it wins, for your sake and mine. And may you have a profitable night in all ways, whether the game wins or not.

Great points - its nice to see someone being human and not putting all the ego crap first. I hope people follow suit.

I like this play as well but I'm not decided yet - I see a lot of people here on the mets and I wanna know why first. Did they lose last night because yates just sucks?

Reb:

Interesting question. I originally joined the RX to share with fellow posters what lessons I had learned through many years of experience including selections, reasoning, money management, record keeping, etc. in order to perhaps help those interested in this business have a better chance to succeed.

For me personally, I treat wins and losses just the same and don't get too excited over either as each play is but a small percentage of my bankroll. That being said, I do find that when I lose a posted play, my thoughts immediately are of those who may have chosen to follow me and at times it can trouble me. If I win a posted play, I feel a sense of relief that no one may have lost money based on my recommendation. I am confident that overall I will achieve a profit on a yearly basis and that helps me not take it too personally. I realize that I can't be responsible for anyone's actions but I do try to be as thoughtful as I can before posting a release.

Agree that we should treat each other with respect and appreciate the contributions of all who are genuine. That being said, respect and appreciation is not given but must be earned. If too much hype, ego, chest thumping and bashing begins to show, one can easily lose the respect and appreciation earned. We shouldn't lose sight of the concept that we can all either choose to help each other or hurt each other as well as our members and viewers. I believe that most want to help and enjoy their experience here. Hopefully, their wish will be rewarded.
