Why the Indians? I'm kinda leaning towards them too but after they lost yesterday and the day before I'm kinda doubtful.
I normally don't bet on dogs, but I think the Indians are the best dog on the board today besides the Reds.
I'm short on time, but here is the a summary:
Masterson has not looked that great lately; however, he only began starting games two weeks ago. Of course he is going to be rusty at first, but now he has had a couple starts under his belt and hopefully the cobwebs are out. He did get shelled last game. However, his first action with the Indians he pitched in relief for 3 innings against Detroit and didn't give up any runs. He pitched 4 innings in his first start and only game up one run (against the WSox). I don't think he will completely shut down LAA offense, but he definately has the capability to keep them under control (at least better than Sowers or Carmona).
Lackey has looked good lately, but I feel this is a spot he could be let down. Indians are at home and due to put up some runs. If Lackey gets knocked early then it's on to LA's bullpen, which is not so good.
It is definately not a strong play for me. Therefore, I am putting it in a parlay with the Mets. Good value = little risk for big payout.
Good luck on whatever you choose to do!
