decent day yesterday as i just missed a nice score with gold sphinx in the sixth. this is a sparse betting card, but let's peruse the menu anyway.
r4: kewen. this son of formal gold has a lot of talent and got an absolutely brutal trip last time out under the less-than masterful hands of tyler baze. we get julie now and the blinkers go off, so i think kewen will run much better here. a live longshot may be choir master, who should improve off her stateside debut.
r6: wildly excessive. we should get a nice price on this matlow trainee who obviously has his share of physical problems as he's very lightly raced for a five year old. i generally don't back these types of horses and lean towards the more lightly raced of the group, but i think tizbud may be a little vulnerable off the layoff. he's clearly the brst horse, but perhaps this is a good time to catch him napping as he embarks on his comeback towards graded stakes land.
r7: geronimo. not the lcassiest horse on the grounds, but no matter, this is a wide open turf sprint, which makes for a great betting race. o'neill brings this chilean bred back down the hill and i think he drifts higher than his 9/2 morning line. look for him to be flying late inside the 16th pole.
good luck.
