RUBY RED ROCKET - Casey drops her down to this level. You don't need too much more data to figure that this thoroughbred should have a chance to win at this level. Rider jumped on this filly's back for the initial time on April 15th. Should 'know' the horse even better in today's contest. Casey brings her right back. I propose you stick with this strong filly. Selectors took note of this filly in her maiden race at Charles Town, sending her off at low odds. Look for improvement in this event.

REYKJAVIK - 4/1 is not priced right for any thoroughbred in a sprint of 4 1/2 furlongs that hasn't finished in the money in a short distance event lately. Most unsatisfactory speed rating last time out at Charles Town at 4 1/2 furlongs. Don't feel this pony will improve too much in today's event. SUGAR BOP BABY - I don't possess a positive feeling about this pony in this event. STORMY WITCH - This vulnerable equine didn't do much for me last time finishing third. Don't expect any improvement in today's race.

PAY THE DEBT - Ought to be given a shot for this event if only for the quite good Equibase Speed Figure recorded in the last outing. CAUSE UR MY BABE - This filly has posted some nice finish positions in her last several starts. Is tough not to look at given the company run in lately.

One of the most brilliant performances in the history of the Widener turf course at Belmont Park came on July 4, 1998. Elusive Quality was sent to the front in the Poker Stakes by Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey and never looked back, running the one-mile event in a scorching 1:31.63, a world record at the time that still stands as the course record. The Bill Mott trainee had previously won the Jaipur Stakes and went on to become a stand-out sire. Well folks ... here in the first running of this stakes event, it is indeed a tough one to handicap the "day before" since there are some 15 entries in this first stakes test of the spring meet here on opening day at Belmont Park, and my pick to win ... #14 CANDYMAN E is not even on my multiple entry contender's list above ... confused .. well folks ... I am too! CANDYMAN E has posted a trio of wins in his last four outings, with two of those "Circle Trips" also qualifying as "POWER RUN WINS." The problem is that this entry is listed as "M.T.O."
