Woodbine Harness: Thursday 4/3 Analysis

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool
Best Bet: BUDDHA BLUE CHIP (2nd)
Spot Play: DOCS HOSS (10th)
Race 1
(5) ADVERSITY showed a solid final quarter last week and enough speed south of the border to be competitive in this field. I'm hoping for a price in the Henriksen debut. (3) FRIEND OR FOE has been knocking on the door in his last few starts, draws well and gets Jamieson. (7) LAUGHING KING went gate-to-wire last week in a solid time. He moves up in class, but continues to improve with each start.
Race 2
(4) BUDDHA BLUE CHIP has won two straight, draws well and remains at the same level. (7) GOLDSTAR BADLANDS went a tough trip in his latest and was still around at the wire. That was a gritty effort and he is worth playing again. (3) HOPIESDRAGNINTHEDO draws inside, comes out of the Auciello barn and is a good option for the exactor. He has the speed and should get an inside trip.
Race 3
(3) LYONSAURA hasn't been racing at her best in recent weeks, but she drops into a level where she's a top candidate. She's versatile and gets Waples. (2) ONE LAST BONO has shown flashes of the speed required and draws well. She'll likely offer a price in this wide-open field. (8) M G JADE makes her moves onto this circuit and raced very well two back at Flamboro. She enjoys racing off a helmet and the short field only increases her chances.
Race 4
(8) GALARINA has been knocking on the door the last two weeks and got a terrific trip last week. She was game at the wire and should offer a fair price. (2) EMBRY SEELSTER draws inside and qualified very well with a :27 4/5 final frame. She qualified just once, which tells me the connections feel she's ready at first asking. (7) FACE TO FACE comes from a very capable trainer in Blais. She posted a solid effort last week from an outside post and can only improve off that effort.
Race 5
(7) FASHION TAGMAN posted two solid qualifiers, has gate speed and if he minds his manners, he appears to be a top candidate in his first career start. (1) K D BELLA draws the rail, certainly has shown the speed and likely will offer a low price. (6) GANGIO showed the speed needed last year and qualified strongly last week. Based on last year's performances, he appears to be a top threat at this level.
Race 6
(2) ROCK N GO won last week in the debut for trainer Nixon. He remains at the same level, draws well and is versatile. (4) MATTS DELIVERY has been knocking on the door in the past few weeks and comes from a very high percentage trainer in Riley. (1) RED MAGICIAN drops back into this level where he won at two starts back. He'll likely be put into play early.
Race 7
(9) UNIQUE BARAN won at high odds the last time he was at this level, moves back onto this circuit and likely will offer a price. (8) THINKBEFOREUSPEAK has hit the board in three of his last four starts, enjoys being put into the race and gets Filion in the bike. (2) REB THE RAIDER draws inside and enters the Bourassa barn. He moves up in class and is capable on the trainer change.
Race 8
(1) WHAT I BELIEVE draws the rail, already has a win under his belt and looks like he's ready to drop multiple seconds in here. (8) WINDSUN REBEL is fresh off a solid qualifying effort in his latest and comes from top connections. (5) PASSIONATE KISSER closes very well, but got away too far back last week. If he's positioned well early, I like his chances.
Race 9
(8) HLDONTGHTTOYURDRMS looks like the horse to beat based on his recent efforts both north and south of the border. (7) AMIGO DE GRANDE has excellent gate speed and will likely be your first leader. He's been racing at his best since arriving in the Auciello barn. (6) SLIP INTO GLIDE has been racing at his best in recent weeks, draws well and has a terrific late kick.
Race 10
(1) DOCS HOSS draws the rail and enjoys racing off a helmet. He hasn't won yet this year, but is always in the hunt and I'm hoping for a fair price in the finale. (4) THE BIG BITE raced very well last week for trainer Puddy. He's versatile and gets Jamieson in the bike. (10) DUKE DID IT failed to get the job done last week as the favorite, but is always a top threat in this bottom class.
