(3) ON THE PODIUM drops in class off some decent efforts and he appears to make the most sense here. (2) FLAMING YANKEE looks for four straight and has remained sharp for his new connections. (4) WHATA WINNER also gets class relief tonight.

Race 3

(3) NEW YORK KITTY never had a chance last week from post eight; she's back inside where she can do some damage. (6) CAMERON LUCKY ships back from Saratoga and she appears versatile enough to threaten with a live trip. (7) RUNAWAY ROSE retains Sears but is stuck outside again.

Race 4

(8) TEXAS CAVIAR got hopelessly shuffled last week. Garcia-Herrera trainee has the speed to overcome the post and she might be a decent price from this spot. (1) APACH OF LUCK moves all the way in for her second start at this reduced level and she appears the one to beat. (2) MCEVER drops back to a wiinning level.

Race 5

(2) BLADE SEELSTER could not reach versus better last out; Lance Hudson trainee is back at the level of his win two back. (1) ALL STAR DRAGON gets Sears in the bike and draws best. (3) IDEAL DANNY could land a minor share.

Race 6

(5) DUTCH RICHMAN debuts for Garcia-Herrera via claim and I don't think anyone would be shocked if he scored first out. (1) ROCK ME PLEASE also debuts for new connections and he draws best. (3) HARMONY OAKS RULER should be able to fit with these but he's missed time.

Race 7

(1) CAROL'S DESIRE gets much-needed class and post relief tonight; expect Sears to take charge early. (2) ROCKAROUND SUE was overmatched in the Matchmaker; this is more like it. (5) ROCK N SOUL backed up badly last out versus better.

Race 8

(2) KAMWOOD LAUGHTER N was outgamed by a tough rival last week; Team Vallee import is sharp and can take this with a favorable trip. (1) GROUNDED finally lands inside and Buter shouldn't let the opportunity pass. (4) FLYING MOCHA drops in class but hasn't been at her best recently.

Race 9

(2) QUAIL raced well over at Pocono in her debut for Allard and she should be able to build off that effort. (3) SHE'S A MANIAC was a solid winner two back in her local debut; she should threaten if she can return to that effort. (5) IT'S A MIRACLE lacks the class of others in here but the Burke trainee is sharp.

Race 10

(2) MIAS BOLD MANEUVER was turned away after a two-move uncovered effort last out which isn't his preferred trip; he can stalk here and roll by late. (1) PENN TURBO TED is up in class off a win and he draws best. (5) TRIPLE MAJOR has flattened out in his last two but there's not much else to beat in here.

Race 11

(5) DIGITAL Z TAM returned to this level and was much the best; right back. (3) TALKTOMECOURAGE is back with DiDomenico off his brutal trip last out. (2) ABOMINABLE SNOWPAN drops a notch in class and is capable of awakening.

Race 12

(4) ALL ABOUT KISSES plunges in class, picks up Sears and looks very strong in this spot. (6) GIVEITTOEMASTAIGHT returns locally and she's had her moments here in the past. (1) IF I DIDNT CARE lands a rare inside post.

Race 1

(5) GANGIO recorded a good outing in his seasonal debut last week. He’s versatile and should improve off that effort. (1) MARIO BI draws inside, posted a strong final frame in his qualifier and comes from Henriksen’s barn. He’ll have to mind his manners. (8) WIRE ME CASH qualified well for trainer Auciello, has gate speed and should offer a fair price.


Race 2

(1) SWEET COLT OF MINE draws the rail after finishing a strong second last week. (7) THINKBEFOREUSPEAK has missed the board once from his previous five starts. He’s versatile and paced a strong final quarter last week. (5) CASIMIR MEGASTAR moves into the Johnson barn, which will lower his price. He jumps in class, but hasn’t missed the board in his last five starts.

Race 3

(5) NOWUCIT NOWUDONT drops out of the Preferred and is due for his first win of the season. (8) COLD CERTIFIED hasn’t missed the board yet this season in three starts and continues to improve. (7) OVERANDOVERVICTORY has a patented late kick and has been racing at his best in his last four.

Race 4

(8) WINDSONG KHLOE posted a sharp qualifier in Florida and will make her first start of the season. Coming out of the Jamieson barn will deflate her price. (6) FACE TO FACE was hard-used last week and just missed at this level. She draws better this week and is a prime threat. (10) TYMAL XTRA will have to overcome post 10, but she raced very strong last week despite getting away near the back.

Race 5

(6) THE MUSCLER received an aggressive steer last week from driver/trainer Jones en route to victory. He moves up in class, but shows he’s capable. (7) RAMZAN got the job done last start in the debut of Moreau. He closed very strong to win by open lengths. (5) LAUGHING KING has been much better in his last two for team Baillargeon. His gate speed will likely come into play at a level, where he’s been very competitive.

Race 6

(9) BOKNOWS MOMNGRANNY enters a new barn for the first time in his career. He’s capable of moving one up off the claim. (6) FOREGO THE CIGAR just missed last week and remains at the same level. He has a solid late kick and has hit the board in his last two of three. (8) DOCS HOSS doesn’t like to win this season, but is a good option for the triactor. He has the speed and has finished third in each of his last three starts.

Race 7

(6) HOUSE OF TERROR put forth a strong qualifier after making a miscue in the Youthful series. He drops into a maiden class where he appears ready for his first career win. (8) EINSTEINS BEST closed very well in his qualifier for capable trainer Adams. McNair is in the bike once again for his career debut. (2) FEAR THE MAJOR draws inside and finished third in his latest. He displayed the speed needed last week and showed a much improved effort.

Race 8

(5) REB THE RAIDER was a shut-down winner in his latest in the debut of trainer Bourassa. It was the first time he’s ever been claimed and there’s plenty more left in the tank for this week. (1) SI SEMALU draws the rail and certainly has the speed for this event. He failed to score last week as the even-money choice and will look for a bounce back effort. (3) GOLDSTAR BADLANDS continues to offer a price and has been racing at his best over the past few starts. He draws better this week with McNair back aboard.

Race 9

(1) BAX OF LIFE trotted a strong mile in her first start of the year last week. She gets the rail to her advantage and likely will get a more aggressive steer. (7) COOL GUY will likely be your first leader with his terrific gate speed. He drops out of the Preferred and is a prime contender. (3) SLIP INTO GLIDE draws better than the past few weeks. He’s hit the board in his last three of four and should be better positioned than last start.

Race 10

(10) MATTS DELIVERY hasn’t missed the board since arriving in the Riley barn and will have to overcome post 10. He’s due for his first win of the season. (9) MEDWAY TOWER comes out of the Menary barn and drops in class. (6) KEEPING OPTOMISTIC did all the work on the front last week en route to victory. He moves back onto this circuit and likely will offer a low price.

LUVMOCHA - No picnic to play any racer in a sprint race at 9/5 when she hasn't shown any successful efforts in sprints in the last two months. Didn't hit the board on Oct 17th at Golden Gate. Followed it up with another less than stellar outing. SECRET BETRAYAL - Not the proper 'spot' in this event. PERFECT MEETING - Showed very little in the last affair. Really don't see any hint of any improvement today. Earned a common speed rating last time around the track in a Maiden Special race on November 16th. Improbable to see an improved performance off of that number.

BETTY BING BING - Filly's finish positions keep getting better with each race. Maybe today's the day. Last time around the track was at Santa Anita in a race with a class number of 82. Dropping a significant amount in class figure today puts her in a solid position right here. A campaigner coming back this soon after a sharp race is a good sign. I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run her best in the 3rd or 4th start back. You have to really like that recent race speed rating, 67, which is the top recent race speed rating of this bunch. QUEEN MAD - Ran last time around the track against better company at Santa Anita. The move down in class should suit her well.

Vulnerable Contenders: #8 ALICE ROADTRAIN (ML=3/1), #3 RYLEIGH RULER (ML=7/2), #2 WILD OPTIMISM (ML=4/1),

ALICE ROADTRAIN - Mediocre rating last time around the track at Santa Anita at 7 furlongs. Don't feel this entrant will improve too much today. RYLEIGH RULER - Generally I need a sprinter to have some success lately in sprint affairs in order to support her. Don't believe this horse will do much running in today's race. That last fig was somewhat easily forgotten when compared with today's class rating. WILD OPTIMISM - Didn't hit the board on Nov 4th at Zia Park. Followed it up with another less than stellar try.

She has been running admirably and the Equibase Speed Figs are among the most competitive in this field. INTIMATE STORM - With better than average trips to the winner's circle, Juarez should have this mare in excellent position to win the affair. Gamblers should probably feel comfortable with this pick given Juarez's recent gains at the window.

ROCK CITY ROADHOG - The March 1st affair at Oaklawn was at a class level of (97). Dropping down the ladder based on class considerably, so he should be in a good spot to take this race. Is ranked number one in (EPS) earnings per start. A dominant try in this field can add to that bankroll. HES A CAT - Gelding tallied a win his last race here on Mar 6th as a shipper. I think he looks like a winner once again. When this rider and handler unite you have to take a look. Thompson and Martin have been terrific together.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 ARKY BILL (ML=9/2), #4 GRANNY JOY (ML=6/1), #3 ME 'N MY WILDCAT (ML=6/1),

ARKY BILL - The very long layoff since September 13th is somewhat troubling. The Brain cautions me to stay away from horses in sprint affairs that haven't hit the board in sprint contests of late. Speed kills. Plenty of early zip in this affair compromises this animal's chances. The speed fig last time around the track doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the class rating of today's affair. Mark this mount as a likely underlay. GRANNY JOY - When scrutinizing today's class figure, she will have to notch a better fig than last time out to vie in this dirt sprint. ME 'N MY WILDCAT - 6/1 is too short of a value to take on most any mount that has run poorly in back to back efforts. I find it hard to support any pony in a sprint event if he hasn't finished in the money in a sprint in the last couple of months. Pace is so important, and this front-runner is going to have a ding-dong battle on his hands.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Hal - HES A CAT - Betting the horse with the best last race speed figure is a good angle. None higher than this gelding's last one.

She goes to the post with the skills of the Jockey/Trainer tandem of Angel Aroyo and Laura Perlic in her corner ... they've hit the board with 54% of their entries saddled as a team to date. #5 NEWYORK CONSPIRACY, a 12-1 BOMB, has produced "POWER RUN PERFORMANCES" in three straight, hitting the board in a pair, including a "POWER RUN PLACE" finish in her 3rd race back, missing a "Circle Trip" in that race by just a "photographed head" at the wire.

No exactas are specifically recommended in another wide open race but I would add that if you decide to play in addition to the four contenders above you can also consider #4 Googleado and #8 Admiral Perry for 2nd place on exacta tickets played.

Power World, Googleado and Console have really only shown a desire to lead from the start and it's likely only going to take a couple of them to go for the lead and tire as well as set up the closers nicely.

Bull Dozer is a true professional, with 15 career wins in 39 races. He's won at Keeneland, won at the distance and at the class level and jockey Mena rode him last October to a strong win over a couple of these so it may be his race to lose.

Dynamic Sky has earned over a half-million dollars in his career including a trio of stakes wins but is still eligible for this third allowance level. He comes back form 9 months off, as a newly turned four year old, having won at this distance on this kind of surface in Canada and was stakes placed as a two-year old here at Keeneland. If ready to run well off the bench he too could have a say in the outcome.
