Nice night, even with UAB's 2nd half collapse to lose the 10*. If UAB had hung on it would have been a great night. The two NBA plays on Lakers plus the teaser both won and made for an ESPN delight. Looking forward to tonight!

Today's quote:

We shall come to see that we perceive and experience what we are conscious of. The consciousness of compassion, joy, beauty, love, contentment, or anything else leads to the perception and experience of those qualities. In the same way, the consciousness of problems, difficulties, blame, negative emotions, and so forth, leads to the perception and experience of the very things we least want in our lives.

In this way we each live in our own world, according to what we are conscious of at any given moment. What we are conscious of determines who we are as an individual, as well as how we outwardly express as a personality in this world. If we are conscious of being happy and basking in love, for example, then we are; if we are conscious of being unhappy and lacking in love, then that is our experience. We cannot be conscious of one thing and experience something else. We experience what we are conscious of.

Can't wait to see what you got today. On Capt's advice, I'll be coat-tailling you for a while. Hope you don't mind. I posted my leans up so hopefully we got some similar plays. Thanks and good luck.

Nice words, Reb. Reminds me of an old tongue-in-cheek quote: "If I hadn't believed it, I wouldn't have seen it."

Good to have you on the Rx so early in the afternoon, my friend, anxiously awaiting your picks.

Kayaman, welcome aboard. Hope you enjoy the ride.

El Iguana, that's a great quote. I can use that one. Thanks a lot, friend.

I have to admit, I'm a little leery of how my "quotes" might go over. I'm sure a few will scoff, or feel it is out of place, but I thought since people are going to read this thread anyway, why not offer something uplifting and inspiring to consider for a moment? Makes the thread worth reading, and hopefully now and then it will brighten someone's day.

Reb,
I love the quotes. Especially this one. It puts a lot of shit into perspective. If we could ALL spend more time focusing on the positive and not the negative, then we would positively decrease the negativity in the(our) world.
Good luck tonight Reb, and thanks for the quote/picks....

You bet. And if readers don't want to read the quote, they can just skip to your picks.

Hey Reb, from time to time you post a big parlay win that you placed. Do you play a lot of parlays but only post the big winners? Or do you rarely play parlays? Do you only parlay your strongest picks together, or do you throw out 4 or 5 game parlays for a small amount just for the heck of it? Anything you are willing to share would be helpful.

Reb,

As long as you're posting winners, RX readers probably couldn't care less if you included Janet Reno bikini pictures in your posts.

In all seriousness...pay no mind to potential scoffers. The easiest thing to do when you don't understand something is to laugh it off or poke fun at it. I'm of the opinion that I'll never stop learning new things, so I'm always open to listening to new advice or philosiphies. Keep em coming...

Here's one of my favorites: while trying to explain sports betting money management to someone a few months ago, the subject of discipline came up. My buddy gave me a great Confucius quote: "He who conquers himself is the mightiest warrior." Kind of applies to capping too, doesn't it?

Muffin and JDeuce, thanks for your comments. JDeuce, that's a good quote too, and certainly applicable.

El Iguana, I answered that question in depth the last time you asked it. Did you miss my answer?

Reb,

Nice work as we have a nice su winner on Depaul and Miami, looking good on the others. I've only posted for two days but have gotten off to a good start in both NBA and college. Knock on wood and keep up the good work. Your one of the best.

Roxy, on Saturdays it depends on when my first game is. If I have an early game, I post it in time for folks to get their bets in. Usually on Saturday, except for real early games, I post more in advance before games start than any other day. I also tend to post all day long, throwing in some night games later on. People who follow me knows there's no telling when I might post a game. Anyway, hope that helps.
