Any insight on the UCONN game?

I did them, I think they're jelling and I know they're on a roll

Having lost to Temple already, I know they'll be ready to play (which can be a concern)

I'm not sure I've ever seen a team implode the way UConn just did. I've seen bigger leads blown, much bigger, but the Huskies just went full bore idiot. With 5 minutes left and up 12, they simply stopped doing everything that gave them the lead and started playing like mentally weak stupid fucking C's. I can't believe the idiocy I just watched, I've never saw such stupid basketball in my life. Settling for 3's, dribbling out the shot clock, double dribble, behind the back passing turnovers, leaving shooters wide open, maybe the dumbest 5 minutes of basketball in NCAA history.

this one is hard to swallow, as a fan

Willie, it was pretty bad, they were dominating...then started missing wide open lay ups and turned the ball over it seemed like every possession. They will come out with extra motivation next game. Stinks to lose that way.

I feel your pain. I am a Maryland alum and saw my team blow a 10 point lead in 54 seconds and a 22 point lead in the first half of a national semifinal. Is Ollie the right coach for the program? Always thought the job would go to Karl Hobbs when Calhoun retired.

Ollie's the man, I'm happy with him. He's still searching for his coaching identity, he'll find it. He's a great recruiter and we have some of our best classes ever heading our way.

This year they've really improved in the past month, despite having two really bad heartbreaking choke job losses. The team is running much better half court offense, rebounding well, shooting lights out from the free throw stripe and is second in the nation in defensive FG %, all the things that lead to nice runs in March.

We lost today because we were STUPID STUPID STUPID down the stretch, that's just inexcusable. He has to learn to see those falls coming, and do something to stem the tide.

I agree that Ollie is a better fit than Hobbs would be simply because of recruiting. I know Hobbs had a lot of success in recruiting some of UCONN's greats under Calhoun, but kids will relate to a much younger coach. Also, his experiences in the NBA will also make him a more effective recruiter than Hobbs.
