Ton of value here with the UNDER in Thursday's NFL season opener between the Eagles and Falcons. These two teams met in the Division Round of last year's playoffs and combined for just 25 points in Philadelphia 15-10 win. I expect a similar low-scoring game in this one.
The Eagles will once again have to take on Atlanta without starting quarterback Carson Wentz, as he's not quite ready to take the field. Nick Foles is still the backup, but he battled injuries in the offseason and the Eagles offense did not look good with him under center in the preseason.
I think Foles and the Philadelphia offense have a really tough time here against a fast-improving Falcons defense under head coach Dan Quinn and defensive coordinator Marquand Manuel. So much attention is paid to Atlanta's offense, people overlook how good this team was on the defensive side of the ball in 2017. The Falcons ranked in the Top 10 in both total defense (9th) and scoring defense (8th).
While there's concerns with the Eagles offense, the defense should be just as dominant as it was a year ago, when it finished 4th in both total defense and scoring defense. It will once again be led by one of the best defensive lines in the NFL.
UNDER is 12-4 under Quinn in the Falcons 16 games played on a grass field, 7-0 in Atlanta's last 7 vs the NFC and 4-0 in their last 4 on the road. Two of the worst 3 teams in the National League square off in a game only a bettor could love. Despite frustrating seasons The Reds Luis Castillo and The Padres Eric Lauer both pitched outstanding in their last start. Both pitchers gave up no earned runs in 5+ innings. Although Castillo has been the better pitcher of the two overall this season the two aren't that far apart and neither are the two offenses for the Reds to be favored by this much. The price is right to take the Padres in this one especially with Lauer and the Padres offense playing better the last couple of weeks.

I’ll take a shot with the Toronto Blue Jays as home underdogs to the Cleveland Indians tonight. The Indians are in a unique situation here. They have nothing to play for the rest of the way. They have basically clinched the AL Central already, and they can’t improve their playoff seeding. They’ve just been going through the motions because of it at 6-8 in their last 14 games overall.
Shane Bieber shouldn’t be getting this much respect from oddsmakers. Bieber is 8-3 this season in spite of a 4.55 ERA and 1.353 WHIP. He is also 2-1 with a 5.83 ERA in his last three starts.
Sam Gaviglio has been awful on the road, but awesome at home this season. Gaviglio is 1-1 with a 2.73 ERA in nine home starts with 53 K’s in 52 2/3 innings. I expect him to shut down the Indians tonight.
Cleveland is a woeful 17-21 (-15.1 units) as a favorite of -125 to -175 this season. The Indians are 1-4 in their last five road games. The Blue Jays are 7-3 in their last 10 home games. Bet the Blue Jays Thursday.

Not sure why the oddsmakers keep giving too much respect to this heartless Washington team, but I will take advantage of it by going against this Nationals team.
