MLB | Rangers vs Mariners
Play on: Mariners -145
My 1* Bonus Play is on the Seattle Mariners (10:10 EST).
I think the Mariners will bounce back after yesterday’s 7-6 defeat.
The visitors hand the ball to the volatile Mike Minor (4-3, 5.63 ERA) who picked up a win on Friday over the Royals despite allowing four runs off seven hits over six innings. Note that Minor has now served up eight long-balls over his last five outings, including two in his latest start.
Minor has gotten plenty of support from the Rangers’ big bats, but note that he’s still just 1-1 with a ballooned 8.38 ERA on the road.
The home side counters with Wade LeBlanc (0-0, 2.70) who comes in off an unfortunate no-decision against the Twins on Saturday, conceding two runs with four K’s over six innings of work. So far the M’s veteran has allowed just five runs over 26.1 innings of work spanning five starts, while also posting a very respectable 19/4 K/W. And note, to go along with his sharp ERA, LeBlanc also sports an elite 1.10 WHIP.
I’ll point out as well that Texas is already a horrible 6-11 (-2.8 units) this year against southpaws, while Seattle is 10-7 (+1.3 units) in the same position.
For all the reasons listed above, consider a second look at Seattle on Thursday night.
Good luck…Larry
