Phonenix vs. Tampa Bay
2002-2003 Records:
Phoenix 31-35-11-5 Away 14-19
Tampa Bay 37-24-16-5 Home 23-9-7-3

Phoenix has won 3 straight this year. Statistical they will lose the next (on road!)game.*
Tampa Bay is at home with a almost unbeatable home record.*
Tampa was the Southeast leader last year.*
Did I mention home record of last year.**

My most likely game on thursday.
Tampa Bay -212

Also I want to bring this up to this forum. I am a 2 month veteran to this forum but never seen a thread about risking money. In business, one always minimizes risk as much as possible. So why not aply this rule to sportsbetting investments. When betting on dogs always bet ATS, for example, NHL: bet +.5 if teams tie, money in bank. MBL: bet +1.5 if team loses by one still money in bank.
Now when betting on favorite SU! LESS RISK! Isn't this logical? I don't understand some of you that bet su and ats; you lose one and win the other, when you could have won SU with less risk. Just my $.02 on betting.

Anyways Tampa tomorrow SU.

GL to those that go with Phoenix,

Gamble

for me i do just the opposite.

on faves i lay 1/2 goal and on dogs i take the m/l. laying 1/2 goal on the fave cuts down on the juice and sometimes makes them a dog price wise. as for taking a dog on the m/l and not +.5 - i don't want to give up the $.40-ish on the dog.

for instance - wednesday i took LA on the M/L over ottawa because i thought (correctly) LA would win the game - or tie at worst. yes - if they tied i would pushed and not won the bet - but i don't like giving up money on dogs. the reason i bet nhl dogs is because i thinkt hey can win - not tie - so why give up money?

as for tb/phx - this is a game you should be laying 1/2 goal and cutting juice down. you should never lay $2 or more on an nhl game (or mlb for that matter, too). tb su -$2 is a bad bet. you might win or push it- but it is still a bad bet laying that much wood!

Gotta fade the newbie here...but seriously, the Coyotes are 'red-hot' - playing back to back games... This game should be pretty close...

Winky,
If you are going to bring examples to the table, let's go to your Monday dog pick of SU Florida. I see you pushed on that. With a ATS on Florida guess what?
Could of, would of, but no WOOD! Would have had extra wood to win more wood on the Kings.

And I agree, Phoenix is red hot but 4 in a row! Come on now. Statistics and logic, its like hittin' green 4 times on roulette table. Definitely unlikely. But if you still fade anyway, I wish you GL.

And about the contest results, I just had to, with that newbie thang. My bad.

I'm not a newbie...and if you are interested I can have a NHL Contest wager with you - if you are interested.

Put up $100 for 10 days and whoever wins grabs the money..we can hold our money at sportsbook...if u're interested.

I don't know if you notice but I am BETTER then you in the contest..the standings haven't been updated for 72 hrs bud.

Phoenix has survived with Burke so far -is he going to play tonight? I'd take a rested lightning team as well. Anything can happen though and its a lot to lay.

Crazy,
Why don't we make this simple. Lay that $100 on Phoenix with me. I'll be your book for the day. If you win, that is an IF, I'll return the closing SU line for you.
OK BUD...

Gambleholic:

I like the idea that you are trying to minimize risk. I will often bet the +1.5 RL in MLB to minimize the risk but I only do this in games I think will be low-scoring because it is more likely to hit in those games rather than high-scoring games.

Keep in mind however that the books oftentimes reduce the profit when you try to minimize risk. Oftentimes +1.5 RL games are at -170 or so. You have to take this into consideration that while you are winning more bets you are taking home less than if you played the moneyline.

The same may be true for +0.5 RL dogs in hockey. I have not done much to study this so I don't know for sure. The books are smart and will work to go against "systems" as simple as this.
