The Yanks will have the motivation to win tonight just like the Cubs did last night and just like they did against the Twins in their earlier series. The Yanks do not want to get down 2 games against their rivals. The Yanks are 13-4 at home when Pettitte starts with a 3.62 home ERA. Here's where the difference lies-Boston has a 9-7 road record when Lowe starts with a 6.11 ERA.

So what? Boston's Starter last night had not won a post season game since 1992, and he won. My point is Boston proved last night that statistics mean nothing. Boston will win tonight with a strong showing early once again. Expect a high scoring game. Boston wins 6-4

Stats cannot always predict who will win, true, but they can serve as a good guide so they do have some value. Just because Boston won last night does not mean the stats mean nothing. It means the Sox played better than the Yanks in spite of the stats. That happens sometimes.

I really struggled with the total. I could see it going both ways, even though Boston's bullpen has been pitching better. I then realized that a person doesn't have to bet every bet even on days when there is only one game. One should never feel like they have to make a bet just because it is there. I left the total alone.
