Ottawa +1.56 over BUFFALO
The Sabres are living proof that if you play hard for 60 minutes good things will happen. Not that they’re playing over their heads or anything, as they do possess great talent up front. However, this team is missing so many key ingredients that it’s just impossible for them to keep winning at the pace in which they have been. Jochen Hecht, Tim Connelly, Henrik Tallinger, Paul Gaustad and most important of all, Greg Rivet, are all on the rack. Rivet has been absolutely a monster out there, as he kills penalties, is the QB on the power-play and is near flawless on defense. Buffalo has not won in regulation in four straight games and they needed a couple of furious comebacks in the third period to avoid a loss. That takes its toll and it’s also worth noting they return home from a couple of very physical games in Minnesota and Colorado over the weekend. The Sens are reeling badly and its 3-2 loss to the Leafs on Saturday is actually a very flattering score, as they were outplayed badly the whole game. I have to think that the Sens will show up tonight after a bunch of sub par performances in a row. You see, The Senators will head to owner Eugene Melnyk's Florida ranch after this game to play the Panthers and I highly doubt they’ll want to head there with another embarrassing performance under their belt. The Sens still have a bunch of wicked snipers and the Sabres are definitely vulnerable with all those key players on the shelf. Overlay. Play: Ottawa +1.56 (Risking 2 units).

Boston +1.14 over EDMONTON
The Oilers look completely out of sync and until they show me something a whole lot different, I’m playing against them in a spot like this. First, Edmonton is returning home from a three game trip to Chicago, Colorado and Vancouver and they never stood a chance in any of them. They scored four goals on the trip while allowing 13. The Bruins record isn’t much better but the difference is that Boston is playing hard and they’re playing good, they just haven’t had the bounces go their way. I also like the fact that this is the Bruins first game of a three game trip to Western Canada and teams will often play their best in the first game. What I do know is that the Bruins are playing a whole lot better then the Oilers are and their efforts will not go un-rewarded. Man, these Oilers have just been so unimpressive, even when they win. Play: Boston +1.14 (Risking 2 units).

COLUMBUS +1.10 over Anaheim
This choice is all about playing against the Ducks although I do think that the Jackets are a decent squad. First off, this will be the Ducks fourth road game in six nights and after playing in three of hockey’s hottest hotbeds (Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal), playing in Columbus has to be somewhat anti-climatic. The Ducks won all three but damn, that is an extremely misleading fact. Last Tuesday they were dominated in Toronto and were out-shot 38-21. On Saturday night the Habs out-shot them 51-25 but Jaroslav Halak was brutal and was yanked after allowing four goals on 12 shots. In between those two games the Ducks won 4-3 in Ottawa but so what, they didn’t look all that good in that one either. The Jackets are coming off back-to-back losses against two tough teams, in Minnesota (2-1) and against the Rangers at home (3-1). I’d feel a bit better if they were scoring more goals but this selection is more about playing against a Duck team that does not warrant being road chalk right now, especially after three games in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. Can you say big letdown? Playing in Columbus after that triple is like playing in the Pro-Bowl after winning the Super Bowl. Play: Columbus +1.10 (Risking 2 units).
