Edmonton +1.02 over ST. LOUIS (2:00 PM)
Give the Blue Notes all the credit in the world for battling and competing under some rather adverse conditions. St. Louis has a slew of top-notch talent (Patrik Berglund, Andy McDonald, Dan Hinote, Erik Johnson, Paul Kariya and T.J. Oshie) on the rack, yet they’ve still won three of their last four games and four of its last six. Not only have they won three of the wins came on the road at Minnesota, Chicago and Nashville. Incredible. Perhaps those teams didn’t take them seriously and were caught napping because had they played to their capabilities, it’s hard to fathom that all three would lose at home to a team that is filled with call-ups. By the way, Nashville lost 1-0 but out-shot them 47-17. Enter the Oilers, a team loaded with talent that keeps losing, and that can’t afford to take anyone lightly. This team desperately needs W’s and should they lose here there’s going to be a serious gut-check afterwards. The Blue Notes return home from a three game trip, they’ve played eight of their last 10 on the road, they’re badly banged up and there’s just no excuses whatsoever for the Oilers in this one, as they’re run out of those. Play: Edmonton +1.07 (Risking 2 units).

BOSTON +1.02 over Detroit
On Thanksgiving Thursday in Boston, the Bruins destroyed the Islanders 7-2. By the third period and until the end of the game, the fans were going nuts and the place was as electric as the days of Bobby Orr, Phil Espositio, Wayne Cashman, Rick Middleton and Gerry Cheevers. The Bruins are back my friends and the place will be hopping tonight. This edition of the Bruins is as good as any team in the NHL and this is the absolute last time this season (barring injuries) that they’ll be a pooch in their own crib. They’ll be sky high for this one and they’ll feed off the frenzied crowd right from the opening face-off. For the Red Wings, this is just another hockey game. Play: Boston +1.02 (Risking 2 units).

Minnesota +1.07 over NASHVILLE (reg)
Tough spot for the home side here. Nashville has had a grueling schedule over its last dozen games and could be running strictly on fumes tonight. It started on November 4 when the Preds traveled to play six straight on the road at Vancouver, Calgary, Colorado, San Jose, Anaheim and Los Angeles. They came home for one game to play the Sharkies before heading out again for two more at Tampa and Carolina. They then came home to play Atlanta before flying out to play in Atlanta. That’s 12 straight games in which they’ve had to travel to play its next game and this will be 13. That has to be tough and they’ll play a very physical and hard-working Wild team in this one. Minnesota has been home for five straight games and should be the much fresher team, period. Give a huge scheduling edge to the Wild and besides that, they’re not the second best team here. Play: Minnesota +1.07 (Risking 2 units).
Time to turn this thing around.
