I still maintain it comes down to how aggressive the play-calling and tempo are if the game is out of hand late. If you really think Baylor won't let up than that is an advantageous metric in terms of covering a large spread. Has one of Baylor's coaches said anything to this effect about this game? Even if a coach had thoughts about pouring it on coming into a game, who's to say he actually goes through with in the 4th quarter? Does anyone have examples of coaches pouring it on that they recall?
I'm not a believer in "The Magic Switch" that one team can turn on in special situations that suddenly gives them a significant advantage versus an opponent that they didn't already have, and that somehow negates the ability of the opponent to turn on a Magic Switch of their own. Certainly there are motivational ebbs and flows coming into certain games, but when it comes down to it, the % difference in effort players give once they're on the field isn't going to be that magnified or diminished. Sure these are young men who can't be relied upon for complete consistency in effort, but by and large they haven't got to where they are by putting in a dog performance when they're not in the mood. Players come to play.
