Former Edmonton Oilers goalie Jussi Markkanen's 4-year-old son Oli-matias fell out of a Moscow apartment window and died Tuesday, the Edmonton Journal reports.
Markkanen, who now plays for CSKA in the KHL, had brought his family to join him in Moscow just a couple weeks ago, according to the report. Oli-matias apparently was playing with his younger brother when he climbed onto a window sill then fell.
Markkanen played five seasons with the Oilers and was a goalie in Helsinki last season before returning to the Russian league, where he played during the 2004-05 lockout season.
