Living is so overrated. Seriously, once you reach 50, what are you going to do besides wait to die? Would anyone want to live past 80? For what? So you can play grabass with the "ladies" at the nursing home?

You can still do plenty at 50, you are not serious....while i tend to agree somewhat, and want to stay young forever, you can still pretty much look the same at 50, if you do what is necassary....

I guess I just have a different outlook on life than most people, and that is fine. But break down your life, and how much of it is spent having fun? Most of it is work, responsibilities, and stress. I might sound cynical, but it's true. The vast majority of life is meaningless and trivial. That's what leads me to believe in an afterlife, and that is what I'm waiting for.

I do agree , there are some parts of life that are not what i would call enjoyable but I personally am a pretty happy person, I think the key is balance and exercise of the mind and body...I would be miserable If I couldn't exercise, also very key, you must make money doing something you enjoy...its a must , work for yourself Illini, you are young man, find your own business, something you can do and enjoy.

Life is what you make of it, definitely. But I'm curious as to how many people would classify life as a gift, as opposed to a responsibility. You know me well enough to know that I will always put the deep thinking spin on everything, and will put people on the spot with difficult questions.

I do think of it as a gift...i won't get all philosphical here because i take enough razzing, some deserved some not...but I do appreciate each day and the simple things...

I wouldn't want to be filthy rich and known as a 'cut throat, who will do anything to win'...I would rather be healthy, live comfortably and be able to sleep at night....Wealth isn't about how much money you have, if anything I have learned that right here on this forum.

Speaking of Hijackings

Does the real Blue Edwards know that his likeness has been hijacked?

i worked it all out with theo. we actually have a lot in common...we both like budweiser because of the beechwood aging, we both can hit the three-ball and we both play chess.

he beats me in horse almost every time but i can take him in chess.

he said i can use his likeness as long as i dont bring up john stockton...he really hates that guy.

Nothing wrong with being philosophical. If all you need in life is a beer and a ballgame, there really isn't much to you.

You got that right Illini...but wouldn't you agree the simplest things are the finest gifts?
