Texas Tech +2 1/2 at K-State? I thought Tech would be a 3-4 point favorite here before it opened. I'm on the Red Raiders.

Perhaps they are thinking of K-State's victory over Nebraska last weekend and have forgotten TT's blowout of the Huskers. Add to the mix that TT lost to Texas last weekend. Even the books can be fickle like the public.

Give me 30 minutes to add these teams to my database and cap it and I'll tell you who should be favored and why. Back in 30 or so.

Alright just got done and haven't even looked at Pinny's line yet but I have Texas Tech winning by 6-7 and the total being right around 71.

Going to look at the line now.

Ttech doesn't play well on the road. In Lubbock, they would hand it to the Cats, but I'm not so sure in Manhattan, especially if KSU QB Dylan Meier plays (and it looks like he will). Cats are improving.

As high as the total is, look at the over as well--if NU offense can score 21 on the Cats in Manhattan, TTech can likely score 40.....and we all know about Tech's defense (or lack thereof).

t.tech doesn`t strike me as particularly physical...they lost to new mexico and they`re strong ground game...if meier plays you`ll have a balanced offense with meier and sproles......

not so sure that tx tech is as good as many think.....slapping nebraska and defenseless tcu around is a bit of a false indicator to me...k.st. looks to be coming around...

i think tx tech might be a public darling here and will wait to see how far this line drops....

and will wait for more opinions....

..interesting thread

I've got them winning this game straight up but they sure were a real disappointment last week. Will prolly leave this one alone.

i think tulsa at home should be favored over rice.
new mexico should be favored over colorado st.
airforce over wyoming.
this doesn't fit into this category but, does anyone else like illinois+10.5 vs iowa?? isn't iowa playing with a highschool running back at this point? bujter (sp) and illinois should put up the points to cover this # at home right?

That might be the key.

Texas Tech has no rushing defense at all. If KSTATE keeps it on the ground they can win the game easily. Even in the Husker/TT game the Huskers moved the ball on the ground very well in the first half until the game got out of hand and they had to pass.

Tech is not the best on the road and they can't stop the run. Might equal a KST. win

Tech has a decent run D. They have played some big time rushing schools and even if you figure in Texas getting 200 and Oklahoma getting 300, the Red Raiders are still only giving up 4 yards a carry. They held Nebraska to 2.51 and Kansas to 2.46, and neither of those squads got to 100 yards. Also, K State has had their chances to rush against bad run D's this season and hasn't done crap. The only two squads they've rushed for over 5 yards a carry this season on were W. Kentucky and LA Lafeyette. Throw out those games and they've only had one other successful running game and that was last week against Nebraska. The same team that Tech (who is not a running team) averaged 4.8 yards a carry against. KState got 4.73. If you toss out the W. Kentucky and LA Lafeyette games, KState's vaunted ground game is averaging 40 carries a game for 107 yards, an average of just 2.7 y/c.

my point was that k st,with meier,is a balanced attack.......tx tech won`t be able to sit on their ground game...

the venue..at night....as well as what i perceive as k.st. improvement is what has me looking at this one....

along with some trends....k st8-3 ats in second game of 2 or more game homestands......t.tech is 0-3 ats after texas.....

not written in stone for me....but i`m not sold on tx tech....

I agree--the issue is more about KSU than TTech. KSU may finally be starting to play closer to their potential. They have obviously underachieved up to now. They just about beat A&M (whom everyone is finally recognizing as a solid team) on the road and gave OU a run for their $$ 2 weeks ago, then demolished Nebraska w/ back-up QB in the whole game. TTech will get their points, but K-State is looking stronger every week.

i do like tech, but good points. the new mexico loss was a fluke, they turned the ball over a ton, but tech did dominate that game from the yardage and offensive stand point.

if fresno st can puts points on the board at will vs kst, i think tech destroys them.

i really like the over, and so does vegas.

actually, Texas Tech's run defense is alright...they just didn't have the athletes to keep up last week...this week they will be more evenly matched athletically...QB Meier sp? is still questionable for K-State...gonna take Texas Tech +3 here
