Serra/GSP....

Nobody is giving Guida a shot. Line has jumped up a dollar and nobody is calling the upset.

I just can't see it. I got $2800 to win $1k earlier in the week and I hate to see this much of the public with me.

Just not many ways for Guida to win this fight.

Makes me feel a little better now to see a 3-1 like Wilks come in. Not very often you see two huge dogs bark to end a show.

I wish I would have grabbed some of him +700 by sub but I waited around and it ended up at +410 then +390.

There was that stretch in 2007 where the Main Event dogs just killed and it taught many a very valuable lesson.

Sanchez is focused here. You will always get your monies worth from him.

DIEGO SANCHEZ VS. CLAY GUIDA

Round 1 - As only Sanchez could, he enters the cage and immediately gets in Guida's face and starts yelling - only for his mouthpiece to fly out and go careening across the mat. Even Guida had to laugh, along with press row. Anyway, we're underway. The fighters rush into exchange and immediately pound away on each other. Sanchez immediately connects and has Guida dazed. Guida tries to shoot, but Sanches fends it off, lands a flying knee and then continues swinging away as blood trickles from his opponent's nose and mouth. Sanchez continues teeing off with Guida's back against the cage. Guida, though, shoots forward and puts Sanchez on his back to stop the assault. Sanchez ties him up to avoid any damage as nearly 30 seconds go by with no action. Sanchez gets his back to the cage, and Guida finally connects with an elbow to the face as he pulls Nightmare away from the cage. Sanchez, though, gets back to his feet, and we start again. Guida loses his mouthpiece, and we have a brief timeout. On the restart, Sanchez connects flush on a head kick that sends Guida to the mat. The referee considers stopping it, but Guida recovers and gets back to his feet. Sanchez continues a brutal assault of punches as the blood continues pouring from his opponent's face. Guida clinches to stop the assault and ties up Sanchez against the cage. Sanchez, though, wrestles Guida to the mat and works from inside half guard. Guida gets to his feet before the round ends. It's all Sanchez in an bloodbath of a first round. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-8 for Sanchez.

Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida
Round 1
Sanchez races out and takes the center, and the pair throw dozens of frantic punches. Guida is being raked repeatedly by Sanchez, who continues to fire rights and lefts and knees. Insane action for the first 30 sections. Guida’s mouthguard has come out in the fracas. Sanchez lunges at Guida with another knee. Only a minute has elapsed thus far, as Sanchez continues to flurry with crosses and uppercuts. Guida finally gets off the fence, and scores a double-leg takedown into Sanchez’s full guard. Sanchez working a high guard, as he controls Guida’s head. Guida tries to leap forward with elbows, with little contact. Sanchez scoots to the cage, but Guida turns him off the fence. Sanchez works rubber guard, and then bucks Guida off of him and scrambles back to his feet. After two minutes of action, Josh Rosenthal finally calls for a break, and gets Guida’s mouthpiece rinsed and put back in. Guida’s nose is bloodied. A crisp, clean head kick absolutely smashes Guida and drops him flat to his back, but Guida shows remarkable recovery, and gets back up. Sanchez puts Guida back on the fence, and unloads with uppercuts and hooks to the head and body. A desperate Guida goes for a takedown, but Sanchez defends, and pushes him into the fence. Sanchez goes for a single-leg of his own. Guida defends, but Sanchez gets rear waist control and slams him to the mat. With 30 seconds left in a dominant round, Sanchez begins to work from Guida’s half guard. Sanchez lands an elbow, and Guida scrambles to his feet. Sanchez lands a right hook as the frenetic round expires.

Round 2 - For all the abuse. Guida appears ready for round two. He takes a more cautious approach and waits for Sanchez. Sanchez unloads but can't find his mark and is then wrestled to the mat by Sanchez. Guida works from inside guard and tries to rain down hammerfists. Sanchez, though, delivers elbows from below. Sanchez moves to butterfly guard, but Guida collapses on top of him with punches and hammerfists that are mostly blocked. Sanchez turns to a side and looks for an arm and a kimura. Guida powers free and continues delivering punches from above. Sanchez scooches to the fence and then holds Guida. Sanchez secures an arm and goes high with his guard, completely negating Guida's offense. However, Guida works his way free and delivers punches. Sanchez, though, unloads a steady flurry of sharp elbow strikes from below that connect well. Sanchez goes even higher with his guard. Guida delivers some elbows but Sanchez grabs an arm and nearly locks in an armbar before slipping free. Both fighters are covered in a coat of red as the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Guida for his dominant top control, though Sanchez proved quite effective from his back.

Sanchez looks for another head kick, which Guida avoids this time. Sanchez rushes Guida with a four-punch combo, but doesn’t land. Guida shoots a low takedown, and puts Sanchez on the mat. The TUF 1 winner throwing elbows from his back, with one butterfly hook. Guida lands an elbow. Sanchez controlling Guida’s posture with butterfly hooks, but Guida stays on top. Sanchez turns his hips, and digs for a kimura. Guida pulls his arm out, and flurries on Sanchez. Sanchez overhooks Guida’s arms and looks to stagnate his foe, as the crowd chants “Guida, Guida, Guida.” Sanchez launches a salvo of elbows from his back, the cleanest strikes on the ground thus far. Sanchez tries to establish rubber guard, but is unable to land anything meaningful. Sanchez continues to launch elbows at Guida’s head, which is now bleeding from the storm of elbows. Sanchez rotates for an armbar, which Guida slips out of. Sanchez’s face and chest are now bloody from Guida’s head. Round expires.

Round 3 - Blood is streaming from the top of his head, no doubt the result of Sanchez' elbow strikes. The fighters take the center of the cage, and Sanchez misses wildly with a shot. Sanchez pushes him aside and tags him with a nice uppercut. Sanchez then defends a takedown. Sanches gets through a nice right. The fighters patiently wait in the center of the cage looking to counter the other. Sanchez briefly clinches and tags Guida before backing away. Sanchez with a nice right to the chest. An exchange favors Sanchez, but Guida answers. Sanchez lands a nice one-two. An electric crowd with two minutes to go. Guida shoots, but Sanchez avoids it and tries to take Guida's back. He's on the side, though, and it's making it tough to secure the choke. Guida pops free and then works from inside guard. Sanchez goes high with his guard. Guida's mom comes cageside and screams for her son. The pace slows before Sanchez secures an arm and looks for the kimura. Guida defends, and with 10 seocnds to go, he breaks free to deliver some blows before the round ends. MMAjunkie.com scores an extremely close third round 10-10, unable to pick a clear winner. Overall, we have it 29-28 for Sanchez.

Guida pushes forward with punches and kicks, but can’t close the distance. Sanchez wades in with a right hook, but slips to his knees. Another left head kick from Sanchez, and Guida avoids again. Sanchez lands an uppercut in an exchange, the most significant punch of the most conservative round thus far. Each miss a right cross. Guida leaps in with a glancing hook, but Sanchez circles away. A slapping overhand right from Guida lands, and as Sanchez throws his hands, Guida lands a right hook. Another “Guida, Guida, Guida” chant comes from the crowd. Guida shoots lazily, and Sanchez looks to turn the corner and take his back. Sanchez digs his forearm under Guida’s chin, but loses his position. Sanchez continues to choke Guida, but ineffectively, as Guida escapes and assumes top control. Sanchez works for a kimura from his back with a minute to go in the bout. With 10 seconds to go, Sanchez rotates for an armbar, but Guida pulls his arm out and flurries wildly, mostly missing, as the bout expires.

lol at the judge who thought guida won 29-28. thats why i hate decisions. thank god cecil peoples wasn't judging with her or guida would have been given the decision.
