I'm not just saying that because of the outcome, I just think game 1 was slightly more entertaining. Great game tonight though. These teams are a lot closer to even than I thought.
I agree to a large extent...EXCEPT...the Hawks did get robbed of a clear goal in the 1st. Even without that one, they dominated the 1st so thoroughly they probably deserved to be up at least 2-0. But yeah, Boston was clearly better after the first 20 minutes.
Series should be tied 1-1, play has been sooo even.
NHL players are the toughest athletes on the planet and the NHL playoffs are the best in sports. How the NBA beats the NHL in ratings ratings boggles my mind.

Yeah, ditto. I get the feeling that a lot of people just weren't brought up on hockey and have never really given it a chance. And when they do give it a chance they don't really understand the rules and get bored quickly. Understanding offsides is probably the most important concept in actually comprehending and appreciating what is going on on the ice. Without that people don't quite realize the small complexities of holding it in the zone, zone clears, straddling the blue line while the puck is brought in, dump ins, etc...
Most casual sports fans that I know who claim to hate hockey, if I can get them to sit down and watch a playoff game with a basic understanding of the rules...they end up loving it.
The nba has too much isolation and is too reliant on the three-point shot. Lottery picks are worthless as they are not close to being ready to help a team. Ruining a great game.
I watched game 1 and thought it was one of the most entertaining sports games I've watched in a long time. Much more entertaining than Stern and Silvers NBA show.
