Maybe players should learn to play the ball and not the player... I have no problem with these calls when the defensive players only intention was to hit the offensive player. The ball should be the goal... not the player. Once the ball is caught the player can be tackled. If the ball is in the air, and the defensive player is coming in like an idiot at the offensive player he should be penalized.

You hit them hard and legal like said play so the receiver doesn't catch the ball or come down in bounds. You probably didn't even see the play.

What if the defensive guy isn't going to get there before the ball is caught?

The only thing he can do is to hit the receiver in the chest in an effort to dislodge the ball. That's what Chancellor did on that play.
